Resumo: From his thesis on German Romanticism to the theses entitled "On the Concept of History," Walter Benjamin questions the idea of continuity, based on linear temporality and deductive logic. This questioning goes through radical postulates such as the total break with tradition and the "continuum explosion", and the destruction of unidirectional linearity is compensated by the construction of more complex models such as images and monads, both privileged by Benjamin for following the principle of correspondence.
