Resumo: The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between the concepts of symbol and allegory, elaborated in The Birth of Tragedy, and the concept of metaphor, developed in the essay On Truth and Lies in a Nonmoral Sense, in order to show how Nietzsche, already in his first work, articulate core elements to elaborate the critical reflection of the language developed in On Truth and Lies in a Nonmoral Sense.
