For a misbehaved history: Michel Foucault’s antidisciplinary historiography

Resumo: This article analyzes the main contributions of Michel Foucault to the formulation of another possible history, aiming to map central aspects in the author’s historiography that tension projects of a historiography still thought in terms of a science of man in time and epistemologically loyal to Enlightenment humanism. For that, we discuss some central concepts and categories proposed by Foucault that rearticulate the proposal of a historical archeogenealogy based on two movements: 1. the articulations between history, subject, and truth; and 2. the relationships between event, document, and file as effects of the subject’s archeogenealogical strategy. The text will unravel the reconversion of the concepts of history, historical subject, truth, event, and document/archive as the effects of a methodological strategy directly opposed to the subject of Western reason.

A despeito do título provocativo, seu objetivo é mapear aspectos centrais na historiografia de Michel Foucault os quais colocam em tensão os projetos de uma historiografia ainda pensada em termos de uma ciência do homem no tempo e fidelizada epistemologicamente ao humanismo iluminista. Passamos, assim, por alguns conceitos e categorias centrais em Foucault que rearticulam a proposta de uma arqueogenealogia histórica. Dividimos nossa exposição em dois movimentos de análise: 1. Articulações entre história, sujeito e verdade no interior do método arqueogenealógico; 2. As relações entre acontecimento, documento e arquivo como efeitos da estratégia arqueogenealógica do sujeito.
