Resumo: This article is part of a master's research and presents an analysis of the question "What are the key factors pointed out by students for their success or failure in solving geometric problems?" The data were analyzed in light of Weiner's theory of attribution of causality (1985). Twenty children from the first to fifth year of elementary school (two boys and two girls each year) participated in this study. Students answered ten Geometry problems and participated in an interview. Students tended to attribute the causes of success and failure to internal factors by relating to their perceptions about teaching or learning Math, attention, memory, perception, belief in one's own ability, and luck. No differences were noticed between boys and girls or students' ages.
