A pesquisa possui abordagem qualitativa e pretende contribuir para a formação do cidadão crítico, para que seja potencialmente capaz de exercer sua cidadania. O referencial teórico adotado procede, principalmente, das publicações de Skovsmose (2001, 2007, 2008) que tratam de temas como a Educação Matemática Crítica e os Ambientes de Aprendizagem. Estes serviram de base para a elaboração das atividades desta pesquisa. As atividades relacionam a Matemática Financeira com situações comuns da realidade, como financiamentos, promoções e interpretação de informações, que envolvem Matemática, apresentadas em reportagens e produtos alimentícios. Esta pesquisa tinha por objetivo responder à seguinte questão: Quais são as contribuições de uma proposta de ensino baseada nos Cenários para Investigação como ambiente para (re)construção e desenvolvimento de conceitos e procedimentos de Matemática Financeira no 9o ano do Ensino Fundamental? Os participantes foram 28 alunos do 9o ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma Escola Estadual em Belo Horizonte – MG. Na coleta de dados foram utilizados três instrumentos metodológicos: gravação em áudio; relatório da participação dos alunos e Grupo Focal. Os resultados mostram que a proposta de ensino adotada na pesquisa apresentou contribuições importantes: os alunos se envolveram no processo de exploração exigido nas atividades e formularam questões imprevisíveis, que se constituem Cenários para Investigação. Verificou-se, também, que eles produziram significados matemáticos na área de Matemática Financeira, desenvolveram a reflexão, a argumentação e o pensamento crítico. Por fim, constatou-se que os alunos refletiram sobre a prática pedagógica dos professores e perceberam a necessidade da Matemática na vida cotidiana. A partir dessa pesquisa foi gerado, além desta dissertação, um livreto com uma proposta de ensino detalhada e acessível, de modo que sirva como consulta e orientação para professores da Escola Básica. Este material é denominado pelo Programa do Mestrado como Produto Educacional.This work deals with a study developed in the light of Critical Mathematics Education in a Professional Masters in Mathematics Education. The study has a qualitative approach and aims to contribute to the formation of critical citizen, to be potentially able to exercise their citizenship. The theoretical approach comes mainly from publications Skovsmose (2001, 2007, 2008) dealing with topics such as Critical Mathematics Education and Milieus of Learning. These formed the basis for the development of the activities of this research. The activities relate to Financial Mathematics with common situations from reality, as financing, deals and interpreting information involving mathematics presented in articles and food products. This research aimed to answer the following question: What are the contributions of a teaching based on Landscape of Investigation as an environment for addressing (re)construction of concepts and procedures Financial Mathematics in the 9th grade of elementary school? The participants were students from the 9th grade of elementary education in a state school in Belo Horizonte - MG. During data collection, three methodological instruments were used: audio recording; report of student participation and focus group. Preliminary results show that the proposed learning approach to the research made important contributions. It showed that students engaged in the exploration process required in activities, and formulated unpredictable issues that constitute Landscape of Investigation. It was found, too, that they produced mathematical meanings in the area of Financial Mathematics, developed reflection, reasoning and critical thinking. Finally, it was found that students reflected on the pedagogical practice of teachers and realized the need of mathematics in everyday life. From this research was generated, plus the dissertation, a booklet with a detailed proposal and accessible education, so that it serves as a reference and guidance for teachers of Primary School.
