Dessa forma, vários esforços têm sido realizados na busca da promoção do desenvolvimento sustentável. Nesse contexto, a metodologia da Produção Mais Limpa (P+L) surge como uma possibilidade de se promover o aumento da eficiência no uso dos recursos naturais, além da busca de práticas que permitam uma reestruturação da atividade produtiva ou dos serviços prestados pela sociedade para se alcançar a ecoeficiência nas empresas e se obterem benefícios ambientais e econômicos. Este trabalho constituiu-se em aplicar a metodologia da Produção Mais Limpa no processo produtivo da indústria moveleira Vitália Móveis Ltda. do polo moveleiro de Ubá, situada no município de São Geraldo, MG. Promoveu-se o desenvolvimento da metodologia em todos os setores produtivos dessa empresa em razão do pequeno porte da empresa. Foi realizada uma auditoria de geração de resíduos, utilizando-se ferramentas de avaliação de fluxos de material para auxiliar a identificar e a avaliar as nove oportunidades de P+L. Também foram identificadas e discutidas as barreiras encontradas com o desenvolvimento da P+L. O desenvolvimento das oportunidades, até onde foram aplicadas, proporcionou para a empresa a reutilização e reaproveitamento dos resíduos gerados; coleta seletiva na empresa; a implantação de um Programa de Gerenciamento de Resíduos Sólidos; o comprometimento dos trabalhadores da empresa quanto à segregação dos resíduos na fonte; a conscientização dos funcionários e da alta direção quanto às questões ambientais; a disseminação da cultura da racionalidade; a mudança do layout da empresa que proporcionou um ambiente mais limpo, arejado e funcional; e a minimização e o controle dos resíduos gerados.The list of companies with the environment, throughout history, has shown that the environmental impacts of production activities have compromised the future of the planet. Thus, various efforts have been made in the pursuit of promoting sustainable development. In this context, the methodology of Cleaner Production (CP) appears as an opportunity to promote increased efficiency in the use of natural resources and the search for practices that allow a restructuring of productive activities or services provided by the company to achieving eco-efficiency in business and obtain environmental and economic benefits. This paper presents the implementation of the Methodology of Cleaner Production in the production process of the furniture industry Furniture Vitalia polo furniture of Uba, located in São Geraldo, MG. Promoted the development of the methodology in all productive sectors of this company due to the small size of the company. An audit waste generation was performed using evaluation tools material flows to assist the identification and evaluation of the nine times of CP. We also identified and discussed the barriers faced with the development of CP.
