Departamento de Engenharia Civil, Escola de Minas, Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto.Frente ao déficit habitacional nacional, fazem-se necessárias propostas de Habitações de Interesses Social (HIS) que possam atenuar esse problema, atendendo às necessidades dos usuários quanto a critérios de segurança e habitabilidade e, também, aos aspectos sociais e econômicos. Sistemas construtivos industrializados, como as construções metálicas, por suas características inerentes podem contribuir consideravelmente com esses fatores. Diante do exposto, este trabalho tem por objetivo investigar se a implantação de cobertura verde em condomínio de HIS na cidade de Ouro Preto, MG, configura uma alternativa sustentável, capaz de gerar renda para auxiliar no custeamento de financiamento da edificação. A metodologia é pautada em um estudo de caso de caráter dedutivo tendo sido realizados trabalho de campo em parceria com universidades brasileiras e norte-americanas. Os resultados mostraram que além dos diversos benefícios ambientais das coberturas verdes em maior ou menor escala, o cultivo de horta em HIS pode contribuir significativamente com a complementação da renda familiar para pagamento das parcelas de financiamento. Foram avaliados dois cenários: o primeiro com o cultivo de três espécies distintas em mesma proporção de área e o segundo com maior disposição de área para a espécie mais rentável. O segundo cenário se mostrou mais lucrativo e a renda mensal gerada corresponde a 65% e 99% do valor da 1ª e 234ª parcelas, respectivamente e, a partir desta parcela, a renda simulada cobriria o valor das parcelas gerando lucro, podendo alcançar até 130% na 420ª parcela, a última do financiamento. Com a adoção de métodos como o cultivo por células, rotação de culturas, uso de compostagem e combate natural às pragas é possível aprimorar o resultado no cultivo das hortas. Visando ainda a eficiência do sistema e da edificação para complementação de renda foi possível inferir que o uso de aquecedores solares, energia fotovoltaica, águas de aquíferos locais e reuso de águas cinzas e pluviais podem contribuir significativamente para economia familiar, além se serem estratégias que minimizam impactos ambientais.In view of the national housing deficit, it is necessary to require proposals for Social Interest Housing (HIS) to mitigate this problem, meeting the needs of users regarding the criteria of safety and habitability and social and economic aspects. Industrialized construction systems, such as metal constructions, due to their inherent characteristics can contribute considerably to these factors. In view of the above, this work aims to investigate whether the implementation of green roofs in a HIS in the city of Ouro Preto, MG, configures a sustainable alternative, capable of generating income to assist in the cost of financing the building. The methodology is based on a deductive case study and fieldwork was carried out in partnership with Brazilian and North American universities. The harmed results that, in addition to the various environmental benefits of green roofs on a greater or lesser scale, the cultivation of a vegetable garden in a HIS can contribute to contribute to the complementation of family income for payment of financing installments. There were two scenarios: the first with the cultivation of three different species in the same proportion of area and the second with greater area provision for a more profitable species. The second scenario is more profitable and the monthly income generated corresponds to 65% and 99% of the value of the 1st and 234th installments, respectively, and from this installment, the simulated income would cover the value of the installments generating profit, reaching up to 130 % in the 420th installment, the last of the financing. With the adoption of methods such as cell cultivation, crop rotation, use of compost and natural pest control, it is possible to improve the result in vegetable gardens.
