Resumo: Este trabalho investiga possíveis ressonâncias da Idéia romântica de arte e do Ideal da arte de Goethe, tal como apresentados na tese O Conceito de Crítica de Arte no Romantismo Alemão, na atividade de crítico que Walter Benjamin desenvolve em seu ensaio sobre o romance As Afinidades Eletivas, de Goethe. Mediante a articulação entre forma e conteúdo da obra e arte, percebe-se que Benjamin indica que o papel dacrítica de arte na construção moral da história é o de desvelar o núcleo teológico da beleza.
