Resumo: Esse artigo se propõe a analisar as rezas de cura populares inseridas no contexto das práticas de benzeção, considerando-se a tradição oral e o rito no processo de interação social. Para tanto, iremos percorrer por outras áreas do conhecimento, que estão atreladas a oralidade e que se fazem presente dentro do universo das benzeções, tais como a cultura popular, a religiosidade popular, a medicina popular, na intenção de compreender, as relações interpessoais estabelecidas, que mantém a tradição ainda atual e que fazem da benzedeira um agende social do seu meio. O nosso olhar estará voltado às origens dessa prática, considerando-se, sobretudo, a influência afrodescente na formação de uma identidade étnica/social das benzedeiras.

To do so, we will go through other areas of knowledge that are linked to orality and that are present within the universe of benzeção, such as popular culture, popular religiosity, folk medicine, with the intention of understanding, established interpersonal relationships that keep the tradition still current and that make the benzedeira a social agent of its environment.
