Departamento de História, Instituto de Ciências Humanas e Sociais, Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto.Amparado pela análise dos registros paroquiais de terras, inventários post mortem, listas nominativas e escrituras de terras que abarcam meados do século XIX, este estudo busca adentrar no universo das mulheres proprietárias de terras da vila de Piranga, traçando seus perfis sociais e econômicos. Objetiva perceber as condições materiais de existência e as atividades econômicas, nas quais estavam envolvidas. Analisamos a composição dos bens destas mulheres e o significado que essas posses representavam e definiam estas personagens. Quem eram essas mulheres? Quais as suas condições econômicas e sociais? Qual estado civil? Como geriam suas propriedades? Quais atividades desempenhavam em seu cotidiano? Estas foram algumas das questões que, ao longo da pesquisa, tentamos responder. Encontramos alguns perfis de mulheres que, dentro desta sociedade agrícola, contribuíram para a estruturação da sociedade imperial em Minas oitocentista. Mulheres envolvidas com variadas atividades financeiras e que gerenciavam suas terras, bem como as demais funções por elas empreendidas.Supported by the analysis of parish registers, post-mortem inventories, nominative lists and land deeds spanning the mid-nineteenth century, this study seeks to enter the universe of women landowners of Piranga village, tracing their social and economic profiles. Aiming to realize the material conditions and economic activities in which they were involved. We analyze the composition of the assets of these women and the meaning that these possessions represented and defined these characters. Who were these women? How were their economic and social conditions? What were their marital status? How were they managing their properties? Which activities they played in their lives? These were some of the issues that, throughout the research, we tried to answer. We have found some women profiles that, within this agricultural society, contributed to the structuring of imperial society in the nineteenth century Minas Gerais.
