Núcleo de Geotecnia, Escola de Minas, Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto.O Método de Convergência-Confinamento (MCC) é um método simplificado que analisa analiticamente a interação rocha/suporte, usando a hipótese de simetria axial, o que proporciona um conhecimento simplificado do processo de interação rocha-suporte que ocorre em túneis de formato real e perto da face da escavação. A rigor, a análise do MCC é bidimensional, mas os resultados da análise podem ser aplicados aos problemas tridimensionais que surgem na face da escavação, Panet (1995). O presente trabalho vem contribuir para um melhor entendimento da Zona Plástica formada em torno das escavações subterrâneas, tanto para o formato Circular quanto para outros oito formatos ou seções de escavações diferentes, utilizados em obras civis, de mineração ou outras áreas afins, variando através de simulações numéricas a razão que há entre a tensão horizontal e a tensão vertical, K , e a profundidade, z. Tal análise irá verificar o comportamento da Zona Plástica em torno das escavações e a dispersão do Raio Plástico entre a solução analítica de Duncan Fama (1993) e as soluções computacionais realizadas através do software Phase2, versão 8.0 e o software RocSupport, versão 3.0, ambos da Rocscience Inc., para um maciço rochoso hipotético, considerado, relativamente, como brando.The Convergence-Confinement Method (CCM) is a simplified method that analyzes analytically the rock/support interaction, using the hypothesis of axial symmetry, that provides a simplified knowledge of the rock/support interaction process which occurs in tunnels of real format and close to the excavation face. Strictly speaking, the CCM is two dimensional, but the analysis results can be applied to the three dimensional problems that appear on the excavation face, Panet (1995). The present work intends to contribute to a better understanding of the Plastic Zone formed around the underground excavations with Circular format as well as to the other 8 layouts or sections of different excavations, utilized in civil works, mining and other related areas, varying through numerical simulations the ratio that exist between the horizontal and vertical tensions, K, and the depth, z.
