Resumo: This paper aims to trace the sociological profile of the peasant woman based on life stories, trying to construct the contours of her existence. The discussion placed in the text undertakes an exploratory discourse, to define two angles of the peasant women of southeast Pará – the political practices and the economic practices. An understanding of these practices was attained through life stories told by a peasant woman, with the objective of understanding the relationship between a rural workers union in Marabá and the Landless Workers Movement (MST).
