The participatory documentation: the case of the Paresi-Haliti and Enawene Nawe languages

Resumo: The Paresi and Enawene Nawe languages, which belong to the Arawak family, are spoken in the State of Mato Grosso. The purpose of this article is to contribute to the reflections on the participatory documentation, from the presentation of experiences with the documentation of the Paresi and Enawene Nawe languages. Our documentation of the Paresi language occurred between the years 2006 and 2015, while the documentation of the Enawene Nawe language is very recent, started in January 2018. The article presents the methodology that involves speakers of the languages in all stages of the work. In addition, it presents the experience of a Paresi researcher, who is the co-author of the article, regarding working in his community and in community Enawene Nawe.
