Resumo: According to ANVISA is nosocomial infection arising from an infectious cause, this being affected in a hospital environment, where they are caused by a variety of microorganisms among which bacteria, are the main causes of these infections. The proper hospital environment as well as procedures there realized is predisposed to contract and even aggravate the development of these infections, the indiscriminate use of antibiotics without being informed that the bacterium is or is not resistant to the chosen antimicrobial therapy may also exacerbate the condition health of the patient. Neonatal hospitalized in the intensive care unit are more susceptible to acquiring hospital infections, because they have an immature immune system, present a stratum corneum still developing, and with it, greater contact of mucous membranes such as through external due also invasive procedures and interventions therapy with broad-spectrum antibiotics. In general rates in developed countries the IH developed in neonatal is 8.4 to 26%, as in Brazil this percentage rises to 18.9 to 57.7% of cases. A survey by requests for the period January to December 2014, taking into account the resistance and sensitivity of bacteria and its implications. In a total of 170 requests, from infants admitted to the hospital's NICU. Of the 170 tests performed and analyzed 25 were positive. The incidence of gram negative bacteria was 44%, among which Escherichia coli were 27.27%, 27.27% with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bulkhoderia sepacea with 36.36% and 9.10% with Enterobacter spp. Gram-positive bacteria appeared in 56% of cases, being 35.72% by Staphylococcus aureus, coagulase-negative staphylococci to 64.28%. It was shown the resistance ratios and sensitivity of bacteria to antimicrobial front. This work brings a focus on bacterial incidence as well as a focus on resistance and sensitivity of antimicrobials in patients admitted to the hospital neonatal ICU University Lauro Wanderley in the city of Joao Pessoa, in order to show the main micro-organisms that developed infections in newborn -born in the neonatal ICU

It was shown the resistance ratios and sensitivity of bacteria to antimicrobial front. This work brings a focus on bacterial incidence as well as a focus on resistance and sensitivity of antimicrobials in patients admitted to the hospital neonatal ICU University Lauro Wanderley in the city of Joao Pessoa, in order to show the main micro-organisms that developed infections in newborn -born in the neonatal ICUDe acordo com a ANVISA, infecção hospitalar é advinda de uma causa infecciosa, sendo esta acometida em um ambiente hospitalar, onde são causadas por uma diversidade de microrganismo dentre os quais as bactérias, sendo as principais causadoras dessas infecções. Submitted by Fernando Vieira (nandogusto6@gmail.com) on 2016-03-09T14:22:37Z No. of bitstreams: 1 AISS09032016.pdf: 526285 bytes, checksum: 2aae83352e3c3c69c7b86a1e4a0ec7f4 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2016-03-09T14:22:37Z (GMT).
