Indexação de xilogravuras em versos: a representação entre o real e o imaginário coletivo

Resumo: Studies the indexing of woodcuts whose expressive images represent narratives of memory and popular culture, evoking in their readers perceptions and plural sensations. Has as general objective to present a proposal of methodology for the indexation of images, especially woodcuts, considering the theoretical-methodological framework of Discursive Semantics and the potentialities of Folksonomy. In view of the general objective, its specific objectives are: to analyze the approaches of studies of Information Science on collaborative indexing of images; evaluate the aspects related to the analysis and representation of the image information; present proposals for guidelines that will guide the activity of identification and selection of terms to represent these resources based on the theoretical-methodological framework of Discursive Semantics and on the potentialities of Folksonomy. Uses a descriptive and exploratory methodology based on the qualitative approach, with a universe that includes the cordel leaflets whose woodcuts and verses were produced by the poet and xylographer Marcelo Soares. Seeks theoretical and methodological support in the semantic discursivization and in the potentialities of Folksonomy, favoring the processes of figurativization and thematization, in order to contribute to the significant production of semantic metadata in the indexing of images. Emphasizes that the woodcuts are configured as images that portray the real and the popular imaginary and have singular elements that differ from those presented in the proposals of indexation of images hitherto presented, thus the thematic representation of these imaginary resources must predict their nuances, which are based on the premisses of culture and ethics. Identifies the richness and thematic diversity of the analyzed woodcuts whose carved elements represent historical, real, fantastic, traditional or contemporary aspects - given the heterogeneity of cultures, narratives, causes, situations, myths and facts. Certifies that the complementarity and convergence between Discursive Semantics and Folksonomy become opportune so that the indexing professionals can be sure that they are much closer to the subjects portrayed in the woodcuts. Considers that the analysis of images such as woodcuts should be based primarily on the visual narrative and its semantic articulation with the contents of the additional sources related to these resources (such as the title, subtitles, leaflet verses and tags attributed by users in a given system), contemplating the procedures of figurativization and thematization of Discursive Semantics. Presents themes and adapted thematic classes that aim to help the professional indexer in identifying the subjects portrayed in these imagery resources for the purpose of their organization and recovery in physical or digital collections. Concludes that Folksonomy and indexing constitute distinct elements that have their own roles, but should be seen as complementary to the representation, organization, retrieval, access and use of complex and highly subjective resources such as images, in order to mitigate the gap semantic between the terms assigned by the indexer and the vocabulary of the users of a system.

Tem como objetivo geral apresentar uma proposta de metodologia para a indexação de imagens, em especial xilogravuras, considerando o arcabouço teórico-metodológico da Semântica Discursiva e as potencialidades da Folksonomia. Face ao objetivo geral, os seus objetivos específicos consistem em: categorizar os enfoques de estudos da Ciência da Informação sobre indexação colaborativa de imagens; avaliar os aspectos relativos à análise e representação da informação imagética; apresentar propostas de diretrizes que nortearão a atividade de identificação e seleção dos termos para representar esses recursos com base no arcabouço teórico-metodológico da Semântica Discursiva e nas potencialidades da Folksonomia. Utiliza metodologia de caráter descritivo e exploratório pautada na abordagem qualitativa, com universo que compreende os folhetos de cordel cujas xilogravuras e versos foram produzidos pelo poeta e xilógrafo Marcelo Soares. Busca subsídio teórico-metodológico na discursivização semântica e nas potencialidades da Folksonomia, privilegiando os processos de figurativização e tematização, no intuito de contribuir para a produção significativa de metadados semânticos na indexação de imagens. Destaca que as xilogravuras se configuram como imagens que retratam o real e o imaginário popular e possuem elementos singulares que diferem daqueles apresentados nas propostas de indexação de imagens até então apresentadas, desse modo a representação temática desses recursos imagéticos deve prever as suas nuances, as quais estão alicerçadas nas premissas da cultura e da ética. Identifica a riqueza e a diversidade temática das xilogravuras analisadas cujos elementos entalhados representam aspectos históricos, reais, fantásticos, tradicionais ou contemporâneos -dada a heterogeneidade de culturas, narrativas, causos, situações, mitos e fatos. Constata que a complementaridade e a convergência entre a Semântica Discursiva e a Folksonomia se tornam oportunas para que os profissionais indexadores tenham certeza de que estão muito mais próximos dos temas retratados nas xilogravuras. Considera que a análise de imagens como as xilogravuras deve estar pautada, primeiramente, na narrativa visual e na articulação semântica da mesma com o conteúdo das fontes adicionais relacionadas a esses recursos (como o título, legendas, versos do folheto e tags atribuídas pelos usuários em um dado sistema), contemplando os procedimentos de figurativização e tematização da Semântica Discursiva. Apresenta temas e classes temáticas adaptadas que visam auxiliar o profissional indexador na identificação dos temas retratados nesses recursos imagéticos para fins de sua organização e recuperação em coleções físicas ou digitais.
