Histórias da profissão docente no Brasil: “porque no ensino os professores são tudo!” Parahyba do norte. 1835-1885

Resumo: This thesis had analyzed teachers of primary instruction, vital subjects at the institutionalization process of elementary school, and how they had degreed as professorship professions at their profession production, before an institutional degree offered by the Escola Normal. The theorical and methodological support had considered the social history contributions, in special the writing of Edward P. Thompson historian, in a tentative to learn the social process using the experience category in the person collective and particular life, objecting to comprehend the teacher self-made at Paraíba of 1800 had developed by the basic teachers practices at a fight ambient for the subsistence conditioned by the collected salary. The time snip had considered the promulgation of the first law of public instruction in the Parahyba do Norte Province: Lei nº 116 of May 19th, 1835, that had created basic subjects and had conveyed information about the teaching acting at the public elementary school. The final point was at 1885 with the official institutionalization of the Escola Normal at Paraíba, destined to the teacher degree. Beyond understanding the social universe that the primary teaching teachers were inserted, we had searched to analyze how the laws and rules had presented as legal order of teaching profession production concomitant to the institutionalization process of elementary school, by the school form creation in the XIX Century, by the teacher action. The instructional law of calling rescripts, contests and nominations, the reports of Province presidents and of instruction general directors, the crafts and applications destined to the provincial assembly and the epoch journals had composed the documental structure of the project, considering the historical rebuilding of the instruction general process, involving the society. At the sections, we had prioritized to tell the histories by the teachers, considering their lived information about the broached theme at each topic and contemplate the narrative objects in giving voice to the educative subjects and let written in the history of education the workers and intellectual names of the Brazilian education.

L’apport théorique et méthodologique a tenu compte des contributions de l’histoire sociale, en particulier les écrits de l’historien Edward P. Thompson pour une tentative de saisir le processus social en utilisant la catégorie d’expérience dans la vie collective et particulière des personnes afin de comprendre comment le fait d’être enseignant à Paraíba du XIXe siècle s’est développé dans et par la pratique des enseignants du primaire dans un environnement de lutte pour la subsistance conditionnée aux salaires reçus. La coupure temporelle a considéré la promulgation de la première loi, de l’instruction publique dans la province de Parahyba du Nord : loi nº 116, du 19 mai 1835, qui créait des matières primaires et apportait des informations sur le rôle de l’enseignant dans l’enseignement public primaire. L’étape finale a été l’année 1885 avec l’institutionnalisation officielle de l’École Normale à Paraíba pour la formation des enseignants. En plus de comprendre l’univers social que les enseignants, celles de l’instruction primaire étaient insérés, on a cherché à analyser comment les lois et les règlements se sont présentés comme l’ordonnancement légal de production de la profession d’enseignant concomitant au processus d’institutionnalisation de l’école primaire par la création de la forme scolaire au XIXe siècle à partir de l’action des maîtres. La législation sur l’instruction des appels d’offres, concours et nominations, les rapports des présidents de Province et des directeurs généraux de l’instruction, les lettres et les demandes adressées à l’assemblée provinciale et les journaux de l’époque ont composé le corps documentaire du travail en considérant la reconstruction historique du processus général de l’instruction impliquant toute la société. Dans chaque section, on a priorisé raconter les histoires à partir des enseignants en considérant les informations vécues par eux sur la thématique abordée dans chaque sujet et, avec cela, répondre aux objectifs du récit en donnant la voix aux sujets éducatifs et laisser inscrit dans l’histoire de l’éducation les noms des travailleurs et intellectuels de l’éducation brésilienne.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESEsta tese analisou os/as professores/as da instrução primária, sujeitos imprescindíveis no processo de institucionalização do ensino primário, e como se constituíram como profissionais do magistério na própria produção da sua profissão antes mesmo de uma formação institucionalizada dada na Escola Normal. O aporte teórico e metodológico considerou as contribuições da história social, em especial, os escritos do historiador Edward P. Thompson por uma tentativa de apreender o processo social valendo-se do uso da categoria de experiência na vida coletiva e particular das pessoas para a análise do fazer-se docente na Paraíba oitocentista na e pela prática dos/as professores/as primários em um ambiente de luta pela subsistência condicionado aos salários recebidos. O recorte temporal considerou a promulgação da primeira lei, da instrução pública na Província da Parahyba do Norte de número 116, de 19 de maio de 1835, que criava cadeiras de primeiras letras e trazia informações sobre a atuação do magistério no ensino público primário. O marco final em 1885 com a criação oficial da Escola Normal. Além de entender o universo social em que os sujeitos da instrução primária estavam inseridos, buscou-se analisar como as leis e os regulamentos se apresentaram como mediadores da produção da profissão docente concomitante ao processo de institucionalização da escola primária. As chamadas de editais, concursos e nomeações, os relatórios dos presidentes de Província e dos diretores gerais da instrução, os ofícios e requerimentos destinados à assembleia provincial e os jornais da época compuseram o corpo documental do trabalho considerando a reconstrução histórica do processo geral da instrução envolvendo toda a sociedade.
