Resumo: Water supply in dry regions has been a critical challenge in recent years, especially for traditional communities. Thus, this research sought to analyze bibliometric aspects related to the work of freshwater use by traditional communities over the years 2000-2021. The data were obtained through the ISI Web of Science platform, through the selection of keywords. From a total of 700 articles, after screening, 35 articles remained, selected for bibliometric analyzes of clusters and statistical tests. The results showed that publications on the subject increased from 2008 to 2020, comprising studies mainly in South Africa and Brazil. For the analysis of clusters, researchers from the State University of New Mexico stood out. Human communities used rivers as the main ecosystem, managing water mainly for subsistence irrigation, in addition to applying strategies to capture water in dry regions.

Assim, essa pesquisa buscou analisar aspectos bibliométricos relacionados aos trabalhos de uso da água doce, pelas comunidades tradicionais ao longo dos anos de 2000-2021. Os dados foram obtidos através da plataforma ISI Web of Science, através de seleção de palavras-chaves. De um total de 700 artigos, após a triagem, restaram 35 artigos, selecionados para análises bibliométricas de agrupamento de clústeres e testes estatísticos. Os resultados demonstraram que as publicações do tema aumentaram no período de 2008 a 2020, comportando estudos principalmente na África do Sul e no Brasil. Para as análises de clústeres destacaram-se pesquisadores da Universidade Estadual do Novo México.
