Precisamos falar sobre suicídio: discurso, corpo e resistência autoinfligida a poderes da heteronormatividade na era digital

For philosophers and sociologists, the act of taking one's own life, although apparently individual, is surrounded by social circumstances, since suicide is limited to a population. In comparison to heterosexual and cisgender groups, the propensity for suicide in the LGBTI community is five times higher. We started, then, from the problem that LGBTI subjects still suffer today with speeches that objectify their bodies and lead some of them to mental illness and suicide attempts. With the spread of access and the effects of digital media, statements-events about suicide have emerged and accumulated in the virtual environment, which also guarantees visibility to the fatalities resulting from heteronormativity. In this way, thinking with Michel Foucault, we intend to analyze three YouTube videos related to suicide attempts, understanding them as a practice of self-inflicted resistance against heteronormativity objectification / subjectification modes. We list the following specific objectives: a) to analyze the conditions of possibility of the statements conveyed in the YouTube testimonies from the perspective of the knowledge-power devices that objectify / subjectify homosexual / transsexual subjects; b) investigate the association between knowledge-power relations, the body and resistance in cases of attempted suicide; c) discuss the truth effects generated by the discursivization of suicide attempts by LGBTI subjects in cyberspace; d) examine the experience that involves suicide attempts as a set of self-practices linked to the subject's reinvention. The methodology used is the descriptive-interpretative approach, of a qualitative nature. In addition to the postulates of Foucault's Discursive Studies, we used researchers in the area of Communication, Gender and Sexuality, and Mental Health, in order to outline the panorama in which the analyzed statements are inserted. Our baseline corpus consists of four testimonies, published on YoutTube, by subjects who are openly homosexual or transsexuals who tried to commit suicide. We used the notions of utterance, subject, device, discursive body, parresia, confession, among others. We verify the extent to which resistance causes incisions through almost lethal sacrifices that gain resonance on digital networks. This hypervisits intimate confessions that, however, already accumulate in the social body and remain silenced or overshadowed by heteronormativity.
