Resumo: The research Trajectories and life experiences of women in the UFPB Rectory sheds light on the challenges faced by women in the face of historical patriarchal ties that hinders gender equality relations, marked by political engendering, almost always constituted by a demarcation of male power in the academic society. This thesis focused on the career trajectory of the dean women at the UFPB, a research field. Its central question stems from the following question: Who are the women who became the dean of the UFPB, and how did their career ascension process take place? The research objective is to understand the career trajectories and life experiences of women in positions/functions of dean, vice-deans and associate deans of university management at UFPB, based upon gender crossings and political engendering experienced in these places. It also consists in pointing out representative elements of gender crossings, and power that they experienced institutionally; identify aspects that configure the managerial identity and the learning constituted by these women in the positions/functions they occupied; present and analyze the narratives of their trajectories and experiences as women who reached the highest level, the university rectory. Regarding the methodological aspects, this research used the narrative approach, supported by the life histories, interviews and the training method, to tell the career trajectories of personal and professional life that marked their itinerary. The interviewees are the professors who worked in the university rectory, and reached the most substantial level of authority over the UFPB academic administration, as dean, vice-deans and associate deans. For the analysis and interpretations in the composition of meanings, we used the interviews obtained from six women as the main source, in which we collected and recorded their stories, and consulted their resumes as a complementary source. The reading of their narratives demonstrates how their academic-professional life testimonies are delineated from the positions/functions they have occupied in the university rectory, despite the gender crossings and political engendering they have faced in the academic society.

La investigación Trayectorias y experiencias de las mujeres en el Rectorado de la UFPB arroja luz sobre los desafíos de las mujeres frente a los lazos patriarcales históricos que obstaculizan las relaciones de igualdad entre géneros, marcados por el engendramiento político, casi siempre constituido por una demarcación del poder masculino en la sociedad académica. Esta tesis tiene como objeto de estudio el rectorado de mujeres de la UFPB, como campo de investigación. Su cuestión central parte de la siguiente pregunta: ¿Quiénes son las mujeres que llegaron al Rectorado de la UFPB y cómo se produjo este proceso de ascensión para ellas? Su objetivo es conocer las trayectorias y vivencias de las mujeres en cargos/funciones de rectora, vicerrectoras y decanas en la gestión universitaria de la UFPB, a partir de los cruces de género y engendramiento político vividos en estos lugares. Además, consiste en señalar elementos representativos de los cruces de género y poder que vivieron institucionalmente; identificar aspectos que configuran la identidad-gestora y el aprendizaje constituido por estas mujeres en los cargos/funciones que ocuparon; presentar y analizar las narrativas de sus trayectorias y experiencias como mujeres que alcanzaron el más alto nivel, el Rectorado. En cuanto a los aspectos metodológicos, se trata de una investigación con enfoque narrativo, sustentado por el método de la historia de vida y formación, para contar las trayectorias de la vida personal y profesional que marcaron su itinerario. Las entrevistadas son las profesoras que trabajaron en el Rectorado y alcanzaron el máximo nivel de gestión universitaria en la UFPB, como rectora, vicerrectoras y decanas. Para el análisis e interpretaciones en la composición de significados, se utilizó como fuente principal entrevistas a seis mujeres, en las que recolectamos y registramos sus narrativas, y la consulta de sus currículos como fuentes complementarias. Esta tese tem como objeto de estudo o reitorado de mulheres na UFPB, campo da pesquisa. Sua questão central parte da seguinte pergunta: Quem são as mulheres que chegaram à Reitoria da UFPB e como se deu esse processo de ascensão para elas? Tem como objetivo compreender as trajetórias e as experiências de mulheres em cargos/funções de reitora, vice-reitoras e pró-reitoras da gestão universitária da UFPB, a partir dos atravessamentos de gênero e dos engendramentos políticos vivenciados nesses lugares. Consiste, ainda, em apontar elementos representativos dos atravessamentos de gênero e de poder que elas vivenciaram institucionalmente; identificar aspectos que configuram a identidade-gestora e as aprendizagens constituídas por essas mulheres nos cargos/funções que ocuparam; apresentar e analisar as narrativas de suas trajetórias e experiências como mulheres que chegaram ao patamar mais alto, a Reitoria. Com relação aos aspectos metodológicos, esta é uma pesquisa de abordagem narrativa, amparada pelo método história de vida e formação, para contar as trajetórias da vida pessoal e profissional que marcaram o itinerário delas. As entrevistadas são as Professoras que atuaram na Reitoria e alcançaram o patamar mais elevado da gestão universitária da UFPB, como reitora, vice-reitoras e pró-reitoras. Para as análises e interpretações na composição de sentidos, utilizamos como fonte principal entrevistas com seis mulheres, em que coletamos e registramos suas narrativas, e consulta aos seus currículos como fonte complementar.
