Resumo: | Many conceptions and approaches given to entrepreneurship as a social phenomenon show the multifaceted character of the theme. In this research, entrepreneurship is considered from a sociological perspective and, more specifically, from the theoretical lens of Organizational Institutionalism. This research focuses specifically on the process of creating organizations with alternative forms or business models, operating an alternative tourism segment (community-based). This research had as general objective to analyze the contributions of these organizations to the tourism development of the city of Conde (PB), having as specific objectives: (i) to identify organizations with alternative business models on the studied context; (ii) understand the historical, political and cultural context, and performance characteristics of these organizations; (iii) describe the innovative practices of these business models; (iv) to identify aspects of the institutional facet of the environment that affect these organizations; and, (v) verify the role of these organizations in relation to the tourist context in which they are inserted, by the scope of contribution to your development. This research, with a constructionist and interpretative basis, has a qualitative nature and a descriptiveexploratory character. The gather of empirical data occurred through primary sources (informal conversations, observation and interviews with semi-structured scripts) and secondary sources (laws, news and reports). The data was analyzed through document analysis and content analysis. The findings showed that these organizations contribute to the revitalization of the local economy, creating jobs and increasing income for the settlement community and other neighboring communities. These organizations have also encouraged entrepreneurship around the context of the settlement, and redefined the fact of "being a settler". In addition, they place themselves as central actors in the process of transforming the reality of their community, providing inclusion and social participation, highlighting and valuing the city's cultural diversity. Finally, these organizations have also become central players on the city's tourist scene, assuming an important role at diversifying the offer of tourist products and services in the region, becoming part of the city's identity, influencing the way it is seen and represented. |
