Demandas de saúde e estratégias de inserção na atenção básica: a fala dos homens

This study has the focus the Men's Health in Primary Care perspective. This is an exploratory-descriptive research with a qualitative approach and has as data collect scenario the Units Integrated Health (UIH), located in the city of João Pessoa, State of Paraiba. The purpose is to unveil the health demands of the male clientele within primary care (PCA), as well as strategies for minimize/resolve their. The data were collected by interview technique, supported by a semi-structured. The population that makes the universe of this research consists of male users of Units Integrated Health of the Sanitary Districts II and V of João Pessoa, it was delimited a total sample of 32 men aged 25-59 years. During the operation of the research we followed the ethical guidelines expressed in Resolutions 196/96 and 466/2012, both the National Health Council, as well as Resolution 311/2007 of the Federal Board of Nursing, with appreciation by the Ethics and Research center for Health Sciences UFPB obtaining assent as protocol nº 0112/13 and CAEE: 13595613.8.0000.5188, and consent of the Municipal Health Secretariat of João Pessoa, as well as managers of health districts involved. Data analysis was supported by the technique of content analysis proposed by Bardin (2011), and be able to reveal a vast field of demands within Primary Care, these demands both domain preventive and remedial, some, however, with limited focus prioritization by male clientele, proved yet, the strategies, the user's own perspective, to minimize/resolve their health demands, including aspects that underlie the upgrading of services and health promotion. It is considered that strategies to better serve the male clientele in primary care services, the users identified by participants in this study, should be valued by managers and health professionals, given the real gap that exists in the actions towards the care of the ABS their health demands.
