Resumo: The Lean Manufacturing management philosophy, also known as "Toyota Production System", presents tools that aim to add more value to the product or process, obtaining greater profitability and the lowest possible cost. This work aims to conduct a case study through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing Methodology in a production line of a metalmechanical industry in Igarassu-PE, in order to increase productivity and reduce waste, proposing improvements through tools of the Lean system. For this article, a methodology of a descriptive and exploratory character was used, having as means of investigation the bibliographic research and the case study with the presentation of proposals for improvements and results achieved. After the implementation of the Lean Manufacturing system in the sector studied, the gains achieved were the reduction of 23% of the area used, the reduction of 58% in the intermediate stock and the increase in productivity by 57%, thus showing the importance and applicability of this system for the industry. Este trabalho tem por objetivo realizar um estudo de caso através da implantação da Metodologia Lean Manufacturing em uma linha de produção de uma indústria metalmecânica em Igarassu-PE, a fim de aumentar a produtividade e reduzir os desperdícios, propondo melhorias por meio de ferramentas do sistema Lean. Para este artigo foi utilizada uma metodologia de caráter descritivo e exploratório tendo como meios de investigação a pesquisa bibliográfica e o estudo de caso com a apresentação de propostas de melhorias e resultados atingidos. Após a implantação do sistema Lean Manufacturing no setor estudado, os ganhos alcançados foram a redução de 23% da área utilizada, a redução de 58% no estoque intermediário e o aumento da produtividade em 57%, mostrando assim a importância e a aplicabilidade deste sistema para a indústria.
