Resumo: | The world has, for years, been suffering from the effects of climate change. Increased fires, floods, droughts and the shrinking size of the ice cap are examples of these changes. Nations around the world have recurrently pursued sustainable forms of energy generation. Renewable energy sources, such as the sun, water and wind, have increasingly been used at the expense of fossil fuels. Wind energy has been growing substantially due to its large-scale generation capacity, however, it is not the easiest to implement. Consistent wind speed predictions are essential to avoid economic losses and increase the operational efficiency of these systems, making each project a challenge in its own right. The analysis and prediction of non-stationary behavior and non-linear wind patterns is one of the most relevant research problems today. The literature presents several approaches, part of which are based on the individual use of linear systems or other Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques. This article presents the use of a hybrid system for short-term wind speed prediction. |
