Determination of thrust force in propellers of a debris stirrer

Resumo: This work has the objective of determining the propeller thrust force of a debris stirrer. The debris stirrer plays a key role in biogas generation because it is responsible for preventing carbon dioxide (CO2), produced in biodigestion, from forming stationary bubbles in the affluent and eventually hampering the action of bacteria, which slows down the process. In terms of values, the greater the thrust force created by the propeller, the greater the mixing of the residues and, consequently, the greater the biogas production. In order to obtain the thrust force of the propellers, computational simulation is used, where the geometry is implemented, the boundary conditions are defined, the computational mesh is generated and the analysis is performed. According to the results obtained, the propeller with the highest angle of attack of the blades presents a thrust force 32% higher in comparison with the other propeller, being the most indicated for the application in the biodigestor tank.

Este trabalho tem o objetivo de determinar a força de empuxo em hélices de um agitador de resíduos. O agitador de resíduos apresenta papel fundamental na geração do biogás, pois é responsável por evitar que o gás carbônico (CO2), produzido na biodigestão, forme bolhas estacionárias no afluente e acabe por dificultar a ação das bactérias, o que diminui a velocidade do processo. Em se tratando de valores, quanto maior a força de empuxo criada pela hélice maior será a misturação dos resíduos e, consequentemente, maior será a produção de biogás. De modo a obter a força de empuxo das hélices, faz-se uso da simulação computacional, onde se implementa a geometria, define-se as condições de contorno, gera-se a malha computacional e realiza-se a análise.
