“Today I feel na empowered woman”: rural feminine empowerment in the “Sonhos de Maria” Project in the Missão Velha City-Ceará, Brazil

Brazil is a society founded by patriarchalism, so machismo is present in popular traditions, although with the social struggles of the late twentieth century, gender differences have been mitigated in some regions of the country, this reality is still is acting. In this way giving rise to various projects and social manifestations for gender equity, such as the Sonhos de Maria which is a social project whose purpose is to empower women from the rural area of Missão Velha - Ceará, through the construction of an enterprise for the production of cakes and candy and the union of these women, so the present article aims to investigate the social methodology used in this project for the insertion of women in the labor market and female empowerment. Providing the reader with a perspective of the process of social empowerment of women and social entrepreneurship, in addition to its impacts on the lives of the beneficiaries and in society, a case study was carried out with a descriptive qualitative analysis of the implementation and impacts on life of the thirteen project participants. Resulting in the observation of a methodology of social impact built through four processes: awakening, believing, building and conquest, which made possible the female empowerment in the studied community.
