Resumo: O Laboratório de Ensino e Pesquisa em Antropologia e Arqueologia foi criado com o objetivo de desenvolver a pesquisa científica nestes campos das Ciências Humanas, com o fito de garantir a preservação do patrimônio material e imaterial, respectivamente objetos de estudo da Arqueologia e Antropologia, e promover ao mesmo tempo a conscientização sobre a importância deste patrimônio, por meio de projeto de educação patrimonial e de exposições. No primeiro ano de funcionamento do LEPAARQ foram desenvolvidas diversas atividades: implementação da estrutura física do laboratório, com espaços adequados às duas áreas; campanha de doação de material arqueológico; qualificação dos estagiários por meio de estágios práticos de escavação e laboratório, e por meio de intercâmbios internaci nais; os projetos Mapeamento cultural da cidade de Pelotas, Mapeamento arqueológico da região de Pelotas, Pesquisa e salvamento arqueológico do patrimônio arquitetônico em processo de restauração; exposições sobre Pré-história e etnia italiana; trabalho de laboratório (limpeza, secagem, classificação, catalogação, registro e acondicionamento de material arqueológico). Abstract: The Laboratory of Teaching and Research in Anthropology and Archeology was created with the objective of developing scientific research in these fields of Human Sciences, with the purpose of guaranteeing the preservation of material and immaterial heritage, respectively objects of Archeology and Anthropology study, and to promote while at the same time raising awareness about the importance of this patrimony, through patrimonial education project and exhibitions. In the first year of operation of LEPAARQ, several activities were carried out: implementation of the physical structure of the laboratory, with adequate spaces for the two areas; campaign of donation of archaeological material; qualification of trainees through practical excavation and laboratory internships, and through international exchanges; the projects Cultural mapping of the city of Pelotas, archaeological mapping of the Pelotas region, research and archaeological salvage of architectural heritage in the process of restoration; exhibitions on Prehistory and Italian ethnicity; (cleaning, drying, sorting, cataloging, recording and packing of archaeological material).
