Resumo: RESUMO: Este estudo apresenta duas estruturas funerárias escavadas na rocha matriz do sítio arqueológico Toca da Baixa dos Caboclos, localizado no sudeste do Piauí. Neste sítio foram evidenciados nove enterramentos pré-históricos, quatro dos quais estavam depositados neste tipo de estrutura que, até então, é algo inédito na região sudeste do Piauí. Este trabalho traz uma primeira análise, apresentando os dados preliminares observados nas próprias estruturas e buscando relacioná-los com as práticas funerárias verificadas nos seus enterramentos. ABSTRACT: This study presents two funerary structures carved in the matrix rock of the Toca da Baixa dos Caboclos archaeological site, located in Piauí southeast state of Piauí. In this site were found nine prehistoric burials, four of them were accommodated in that kind of structure that is unprecedented until now in this region. This study provides a first analysis, presenting preliminary data observed in those structures and seeking to relate it to the funerary practises encountered in its burials.
