Resumo: This paper uses the Ceramic Petrography in a case-study example and analyses the development of Roman Archaeology, Archaeometry, and Classical Studies at Brazil. Caesarea roman oil lamps of three different intra-site contexts were sampled and used for application of the methodology. The relations of production and consumption, as well as trade and agency of the artifacts are taken into account with the aim to shed light to the development of religious groups and practices in the provinces of the Roman Empire.

Lucernas romanas de três distintos contextos arqueológicos intra-sítio de Cesareia Marítima, Israel, foram amostradas e usadas para aplicação da metodologia.
