Resumo: This paper shows a technological analysis of lithic materials from archaeological excavations conducted at the Cerrito PT-02 (Cerrito da Sotéia) and its surrounding areas, located on the Feitoria Island, Pelotas-RS. This archaeological site was dated by AMS-Standard radiocarbon method between 1010 ± 40 A.P. (top of the mound) and 990 ± 40 A.P. (base). This research focuses on a technological analysis, seeking to understand different Operative Chains related to the lithic raw material obtainment. Thus, that lithic industry was studied through a gestural perspective, presenting two different debitage techniques on the artifacts production, that involves different ways of chipping techniques and mapping the sources of raw materials closer to the mound, conducting inferences about the territory explored by these mound builders societies.

Esse sítio arqueológico foi datado pelo método radiocarbônico AMSstandard entre 1010 ± 40 A.P. (topo do cerrito) e 990 ± 40 A.P. (base). Essa pesquisa foca na análise tecnológica, buscando entender diferentes cadeias operatórias relativas à obtenção de matéria-prima lítica. Em seguida, essa indústria lítica foi estudada através de uma perspectiva gestual, apresentando duas diferentes técnicas de debitagem na produção dos artefatos, que envolve diferentes formas de lascamento e mapeamento de fontes de matérias-primas próximas ao Cerrito, conduzindo a inferências sobre o território explorado pelos construtores de Cerritos.Abstract: This paper shows a technological analysis of lithic materials from archaeological excavations conducted at the Cerrito PT-02 (Cerrito da Sotéia) and its surrounding areas, located on the Feitoria Island, Pelotas-RS.
