Resumo: | This paper discusses the relationship between identity and memory in the work of Canadian director Robert Lepage, focusing on the productions of the 1980s and 1990s. For this purpose, it relies on the definition of “multicultural theater” (PAVIS, 2006), as well as on the recurrence to recall on contemporary scene (LEHMANN, 2007), evidencing the influences of Canadian dual colonization and of collective and personal memory on the construction of the subjectivities linked to identities on Lepage’scene and its relations with reception. |

Le sujet de cet article est la relation entre l’identité et la mémoire dans l’oeuvre du metteur-en-scène canadien Robert Lepage produite au cours des années 1980 et 1990. On part de la définition de “théâtre multiculturel” (PAVIS, 2006), aussi bien que de la récurrence au rappel dans la scène contemporaine (LEHMANN, 2007), pour mettre en évidence l’influence de la double colonisation du Canada et des mémoires collective et personnelle dans la construction des subjectivités autour de l’identité sur la scène de Lepage et ses relations avec la réception du public.Este artigo discute a relação entre identidade e memória na obra do encenador canadense Robert Lepage, com enfoque nas produções das décadas de 1980 e 1990.
