Para isso, tem como objeto empírico a população de Fortaleza com origem no interior do estado do Ceará, sendo essa origem resultado de uma migração para a capital recente, ou realizada por ascendentes familiares. Fortaleza tem, desde a metade do século XIX, sua história e construção no tempo intimamente ligadas a processos de migração do interior à capital, decorrentes principalmente das sucessivas secas, em um primeiro momento, e da industrialização e expansão do setor terciário, em um momento posterior. Essa forte presença de uma memória de migração interiorana na capital é evidenciada, dentre tantas formas, na estrutura urbana da cidade, que cresce seguindo as vias de penetração no sertão, na toponímia dos lugares e, até mesmo, na pergunta “qual é teu interior?”, constantemente repetida pelos fortalezenses. É então a partir da articulação das noções de memória, sob uma perspectiva coletiva, cidade, entendida como uma construção no tempo realizada pela coletividade e materializadora do pensamento humano, e identidade, compreendida a partir da concepção de sujeito pós-moderno através sobretudo de Stuart Hall, que este trabalho constrói suas bases teóricas, tendo também na teoria das representações sociais uma chave de compreensão do fenômeno observado enquanto teoria de abordagem. No percurso metodológico emprega-se também a realização de entrevistas de história de vida, a fim de elucidar como a memória coletiva afeta a construção de uma identidade vinculada à cidade de Fortaleza entre os sujeitos de origem interiorana.CAPESThis dissertation investigates how collective memory affects the construction of an identity linked to the city. For this purpose, it has as an empirical object the population of Fortaleza originated in the hinterland of the state of Ceará, this origin being the result of a recent migration to the capital, or carried out by family ancestors. Fortaleza has, since the middle of the 19th century, its history and construction in time closely linked to processes of migration from the hinterland to the capital, resulting mainly from the successive droughts, at first, and from the industrialization and expansion of the tertiary sector, later. This strong presence of a memory of inland migration in the capital is evidenced, among so many ways, in the urban structure of the city, which grows following the routes of penetration in the hinterland, in the toponymy of places and even in the question “which is your hinterland?”, constantly repeated by the Fortaleza residents. It is then from the articulation of the notions of memory, from a collective perspective, city, understood as a construction in time carried out by the collectivity and materializing human thought, and identity, understood from the conception of postmodern subject, that this work builds its theoretical bases, also having in the theory of social representations a key for understanding the phenomenon observed as a theory of approach.
