Foram investigadas situações combinatórias, conforme Borba (2010) classifica em organização única – arranjo, combinação, permutação e produto de medidas. A investigação também se fundamentou em outros autores que utilizaram fichas, além dos autores que apontam características de material manipulável virtual (MOYER; BOLYARD; SPIKELL, 2002). Mediante a abordagem dos autores supracitados, foi utilizado o Pixton©. A pesquisa contou com a participação de 36 estudantes do 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental de duas escolas do Município do Recife, Pernambuco. A partir dos resultados observados no pré-teste – estruturado por oito situações combinatórias – os estudantes foram divididos equiparadamente em três grupos: dois grupos experimentais, GE1 (fichas) e GE2 (Pixton©); e um grupo controle, GC (sem intervenção). Os grupos experimentais foram emparelhados em duplas, as quais participaram de dois momentos interventivos para solucionarem as mesmas situações do pré-teste com a mediação da pesquisadora e com o auxílio do material manipulável – concreto ou virtual. Em seguida, todos os estudantes realizaram o pós-teste. As análises estatísticas realizadas mostraram que os grupos experimentais obtiveram avanços significativos nos diferentes tipos de situações combinatórias, sem diferença entre eles. Evidenciou-se, também, uma melhor compreensão sobre os invariantes combinatórios e uma grande variedade de representações simbólicas, sendo a listagem a mais frequente no uso e nos acertos das questões, como também, verificou-se a construção de estratégias de organização das respostas, a exemplo da sistematização. Diferentemente, o grupo controle permaneceu sem avanços quantitativos e qualitativos. Concluiu-se que os problemas combinatórios podem e devem ser trabalhados desde os anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental e que os recursos didáticos testados são facilitadores para esse processo de aprendizagem.FACEPEIn order to analyze the use of concrete manipulative material (with cards) and virtual manipulable material (with Pixton © software) in the learning of combinatorial problems, the present research had as main theoretical support the Theory of Conceptual Fields (VERGNAUD, 1996), on which three fundamental dimensions are discussed - situations (S), invariants (I) and symbolic representations (R). The investigation was also based on other authors who used cards, in addition to the authors who point out characteristics of virtual manipulable material (MOYER; BOLYARD; SPIKELL, 2002). Through the approach of the aforementioned authors, Pixton © was used. The survey counted on the participation of 36 students from the 5th year of elementary school from two schools in the city of Recife, Pernambuco. Based on the results observed in the pre-test - structured by eight combinatorial situations - the students were divided into three groups: two experimental groups, EG1 (cards) and EG2 (Pixton ©); and a control group, CG (without intervention). The experimental groups were paired, who participated in two interventional moments to solve the same situations of the pre-test with the mediation of the researcher and with the help of manipulable material - concrete or virtual. Then, all students took the post-test. The statistical analysis carried out showed that the experimental groups achieved significant advances in different types of combinatorial situations, with no difference between them. There was also a better understanding of combinatorial invariants and a wide variety of symbolic representations, with the list being the most frequent in the use and correctness of the answers, as well as the construction of strategies for organizing responses, such as systematization. In contrast, the control group remained without quantitative and qualitative advances.
