(até 1998)A temática central desta Tese consiste em investigar a relação entre urbanização para ricos e crimes violentos contra o patrimônio praticados na Cidade de Caruaru, considerando os bairros de classe média alta e classe alta e afirmando que há uma migração dos delinquentes da periferia para os bairros mais abastados para o cometimento dos crimes, tendo como uma das motivações a existência de uma urbanização seletiva que segrega e expulsa os moradores mais desvalidos para a periferia e bairros pobres. A hipótese geral da Tese pressupõe que a urbanização para ricos é uma das causas do aumento da violência patrimonial nas cidades, principalmente nos bairros mais organizados e com maior poder aquisitivo. Esta Tese é composta por uma introdução, uma revisão de literatura sobre os pontos chave que a compõem, como violência, direito à cidade, criminologia e urbanização para ricos. Separadamente, cada ensaio faz uma abordagem diferenciada sobre os enfrentamentos teóricos escolhidos. Conjuntamente, buscam formar um aparato teórico que será importante contributo no momento de analisar os dados e informações levantados durante a realização da pesquisa e elaboração do trabalho. A ligação entre os quatro ensaios permite a compreensão empírica do fenômeno que se pretende estudar, qual seja, a relação entre duas complexidades, a urbanização para ricos e a violência patrimonial. Após o tratamento teórico dos temas principais que envolvem esta Tese, o último capítulo apresenta os resultados encontrados no campo e como eles dialogam com o arcabouço teórico construído ao longo dos capítulos, no sentido de confirmar a hipótese desenvolvida ou refutá-la.The central theme of this thesis is to investigate the relationship between urbanization for rich and violent crimes against the patrimony practiced in the city of Caruaru, considering the upper middle and upper class neighborhoods and affirming that there is a migration of delinquents from the periphery to the most and one of the motivations is the existence of a selective urbanization that segregates and expels the most deprived residents to the periphery and poor neighborhoods. The general hypothesis of the thesis assumes that urbanization for the rich is one of the causes of the increase in patrimonial violence in the cities, especially in the more organized neighborhoods and with greater purchasing power. This thesis consists of an introduction, a literature review on the key points that compose it, such as violence, right to the city, criminology and urbanization for the rich. Separately, each trial makes a differentiated approach to the theoretical confrontations chosen. Together, they seek to form a theoretical apparatus that will be an important contribution in the moment of analyzing the data and information raised during the accomplishment of the research and elaboration of the work. The link between the four essays allows the empirical understanding of the phenomenon to be studied, namely, the relationship between two complexities, urbanization for the rich and patrimonial violence.
