Funcionamento e estrutura da comunidade microbiana em áreas reflorestadas com Eucalyptus grandis após extração de argila no litoral sul de Pernambuco

Resumo: | Em todo o mundo, grandes áreas vêm sendo devastadas pela atividade mineradora e a recuperação ou reabilitação desses locais é motivo de grande preocupação. O objetivo geral desta tese foi avaliar a intensidade e indicar a direção das mudanças no funcionamento microbiológico (FM) e na estrutura da comunidade microbiana do solo promovidas pela revegetação com Eucalyptus grandis em áreas degradadas pela mineração de argila no litoral de Pernambuco, Brasil. O estudo foi conduzido no município de Cabo de Santo Agostinho em quatro áreas pós-mineração, três reflorestadas com eucalipto com diferentes idades e uma em processo de recuperação espontânea. Uma área adjacente sob vegetação nativa (Mata Atlântica) foi usada como referência das características originais do solo. O funcionamento microbiológico do solo foi representado pelas análises de carbono da biomassa microbiana, respiração basal e atividade das enzimas β-glicosidase, urease, β-glicosaminidase, fosfatase ácida, arilsulfatase, desidrogenase e hidrólise do diacetato de fluoresceína. A estrutura da comunidade microbiana foi determinada pela análise de ésteres metílicos de ácidos graxos (FAMEs). Os resultados demonstram que a revegetação com eucalipto promove o rápido restabelecimento do FM e o desenvolvimento da comunidade microbiana em solos após mineração de argila. As mudanças observadas são no sentido da recuperação das condições existentes nas áreas anteriormente à mineração, no entanto o grau desta recuperação é dependente do tempo de revegetação com eucalipto. |

The general aim this thesis was to evaluate the intensity and indicate the direction of changes in the microbiological functioning (MF) and in the structure of the microbial community promoted by revegetation with Eucalyptus grandis in areas degraded by clay mining in the coast of Pernambuco, Brazilian Northeast. The study was conducted in the municipality of Cabo de Santo Agostinho in four post-mining areas, three reforested with eucalyptus with different ages and one in the process of spontaneous recovery. An adjacent area under native vegetation (Atlantic Forest) was used as reference of the original soil characteristics. The microbiological functioning of soil was represented by microbial biomass carbon analysis, basal respiration and activity of enzymes β-glucosidase, urease, β-glucosaminidase, acid phosphatase, arylsulfatase, dehydrogenase and hydrolysis of fluorescein diacetate. The structure of the microbial community was determined by the analysis of fatty acid methyl ester (FAMEs). The results demonstrate that revegetation with eucalyptus promotes the rapid reestablishment of MF and the development of the microbial community in clay mining soils.
