Criado em 1961 pela Igreja Católica, o Movimento de Educação de Base (MEB) desenvolveu um projeto de educação para promoção social e ação evangelizadora, junto às massas, por meio de escolas radiofônicas instaladas nos lugares mais diversos, com temáticas que discorriam desde a alfabetização à discussão de reformas de base. Fazer memória ao MEB é atuar no reconhecimento dos sujeitos coletivos que se empenharam na consolidação dos direitos humanos na sociedade brasileira. Por isso, esta dissertação objetiva analisar as contribuições do MEB, com base em sua proposta pedagógica na perspectiva da promoção dos direitos humanos, tendo como objeto a coletânea didática “Viver é Lutar”, publicada em 1964. Salientamos que esta pesquisa é de caráter qualitativo e tem como base epistemológica os estudos de Benevides (1991), Bobbio (1986, 2004), Comparato (1997), Fávero (1983, 2006), Freire (1967, 2000, 2015a, 2015b), Kadt (2007), Magendzo (2000), Mate (2011), Mondaini (2006), O’Donnell (1991), Silva; Tavares (2013), Tavares (2007), Viola (2007), Wanderley (1984), dentre outros teóricos das várias ciências. Para o exame dos livros da citada coletânea, utiliza-se os procedimentos metodológicos da Análise de Conteúdo, conforme explicitado por Bardin (1977), a fim de apreender a perspectiva dos direitos humanos defendida pelo movimento. Ressaltamos que a coletânea “Viver é Lutar” é o marco da proposta pedagógica do MEB no comprometimento da educação popular com vistas a uma ação educadora para a politização e conscientização, reconhecendo os estudantes-ouvintes como sujeitos de direitos. Os parâmetros para a análise dessa coletânea didática, publicada na efervescência ideológica e política dos anos de 1960, embasaram-se nos conceitos de Democracia, Direitos humanos e Educação em direitos humanos. Os resultados da análise revelam que: a) a proposta de educação do MEB se situava em uma perspectiva transformadora, que possibilitava a tomada de posicionamento do estudante-ouvinte; b) o fundamento dos direitos humanos para o MEB era a dignidade da pessoa humana a partir da filiação divina; c) o MEB atuava, com base em seu material didático, na defesa dos direitos humanos sociais, principalmente, em relação ao direito ao trabalho e ao direito à educação; d) o direito ao trabalho e o direito à educação estavam articulados sob uma dimensão transcendental, cultural e social; e) foi na dimensão social desses direitos onde o MEB empregou maior esforço pedagógico. Além disso, também identificamos que o MEB se contrapunha ao determinismo da época, empenhando-se na crítica das injustiças, a fim de favorecer a luta por melhores condições de vida e, principalmente, o desenvolvimento da cidadania.In a democracy, educational proposals that are humanizing and committed to citizenship are guidelines that guide actions for the consolidation of a culture of human rights. Created in 1961 by the Catholic Church, the Movimento de Educação de Base (MEB) developed an education project for social promotion and evangelising action among the masses, through radio schools installed in the most diverse places, with topics ranging from literacy to discussion of Reforms. To remember MEB is to act in the recognition of the collective subjects that have committed themselves to the consolidation of human rights in Brazilian society. Therefore, this dissertation aims to analyze the contributions of the MEB, based on its pedagogical proposal with a view to the promotion of human rights, having as object the didactic collection "Viver é Lutar", published in 1964. We emphasize that this research is qualitative And has as an epistemological basis the studies of Benevides (1991), Bobbio (1986, 2004), Comparato (1997), Fávero (1983, 2006), Freire (1967, 2000, 2015a, 2015b), Kadt (2007), Magendzo (2000), Mate (2011), Mondaini (2006), O'Donnell (1991), Silva; Tavares (2013), Tavares (2007), Viola (2007), Wanderley (1984), among other theorists of the various sciences. For the examination of the books of the aforementioned collection, the methodological procedures of Analysis of Contents are used, as explained by Bardin (1977), in order to apprehend the human rights perspective defended by the movement. We emphasize that the "Viver é Lutar" collection is the framework of the pedagogical proposal of the MEB in the commitment of popular education with a view to an educative action for politicization and awareness, recognizing student-listeners as subjects of rights. The parameters for the analysis of this didactic collection, published in the ideological and political effervescence of the 1960s, were based on the concepts of Democracy, Human Rights and Education in human rights. The results of the analysis reveal that: a) the proposal of education of the MEB was in a transformative perspective, that made possible the positioning of the student-listener; b) the foundation of human rights for the MEB was the dignity of the human person from the divine sonship; c) the MEB acted, based on its didactic material, in the defense of social human rights, mainly in relation to the right to work and the right to education; d) the right to work and the right to education were articulated under a transcendental, cultural and social dimension; e) it was in the social dimension of these rights that the MEB used a greater pedagogical effort.
