Inserido na História Cultural nosso tema fez com que fossemos levados a uma interdisciplinaridade. Entendemos interdisciplinaridade não como uma amalgamação de disciplinas, mas como uma troca de conceitos, onde a História procura estabelecer um diálogo no que diz respeito aos seus métodos e objetos com as outras disciplinas. Essa interdisciplinaridade se fez mais presente nas nossas abordagens a respeito da devoção. Buscamos através do detalhamento dos elementos que podemos identificar como característicos desse fenômeno religioso, elaborar um estudo histórico sobre a devoção que acontece em Ipojuca. Para consubstanciar nossa investigação histórica foram essenciais conceitos como o de estrutura de plausibilidade, de Peter Berger, o de hierofania de Mircea Eliade, o de carisma de Max Weber, e ainda a perspectiva da circularidade cultural de Carlo Ginzburg. Recolhemos fontes distintas em seu gênero e de épocas bastantes diversas. Isso se deu pela razão de trabalharmos com o tempo de longa duração, onde traçamos uma linha do ponto de origem do nosso estudo, no século XVII até o presente, principalmente no que se refere à devoção e as romarias ao Santo Cristo. Com isso, foi sendo possível trabalharmos com fontes manuscritas do tempo do Brasil Colônia do Arquivo Histórico Ultramarino e com relatos orais dos devotos e romeiros que se dirigem a Ipojuca, além de outras fontes como os materiais produzidos pelo convento para a festa anual do Santo Cristo. Elemento importante da cultura do povo desta cidade, bem como de Pernambuco, o Santo Cristo, mesmo com as visitas ao seu santuário reduzidas, está desde 1663 como objeto da devoção das pessoas que o procuram para pedir e/ou agradecer por benefícios que lhes foram concedidos.CAPESThis research is a historical analysis of pilgrimages and devotions that took place in the city of Ipojuca - PE, more specifically to the sanctuary of Lord Santo Cristo, located in the Franciscan Convent of Santo Antônio, founded in 1606. That we are led to an interdisciplinarity. We understand interdisciplinarity not as an amalgamation of disciplines, but as an exchange of concepts, where History seeks to establish a dialogue with respect to its methods and objects with the other disciplines. This interdisciplinarity has become more present in our approaches to devotion. We search through the detailing of the elements that we can identify as characteristic of this religious phenomenon, to elaborate a historical study on the devotion that happens in Ipojuca. In order to substantiate our historical investigation, concepts such as Peter Berger's structure of plausibility, Mircea Eliade's hierophany, Max Weber's charisma, and Carlo Ginzburg's cultural circularity perspective were essential. We collect distinct sources in its genus and quite several times. This was due to the reason we worked with the long time, where we draw a line from the point of origin of our study, in the seventeenth century to the present, especially with regard to devotion and pilgrimages to the Holy Christ. With this, it was possible to work with handwritten sources from the time of the Colônia of the Overseas Historical Archive and with oral accounts of devotees and pilgrims who go to Ipojuca, as well as other sources such as the materials produced by the convent for the annual feast of Santo Cristo .
