This article deals with the scientific productions that deal with the exercise of male teachers in the context of Early Childhood Education. We used as database, the Brazilian Digital Library of Dissertations Theses - BDTD, more specifically, the researches defended in the period of 2010-2020. We list as the general objective of our study: to map the production of knowledge about the exercise of male teachers in Early Childhood Education. The methodological path is anchored in the qualitative approach, where we make a study of the bibliographic type, through the modality characterized as State of the Art. Weaving a look at the production of knowledge about male teachers in Early Childhood Education, emerges in the perspective of investigating the main challenges, confrontations and taboos that surround male teachers who work in this stage of Basic Education, but also to denounce the frames of machismo , sexism and LGBTphobia that has been reproduced in these spaces. Our considerations point to the emergence of new studies around the teaching experiences of male teachers who work in the context of Early Childhood Education, considering that this reality has been little explored in the scope of academic research.
