Resumo: This article intends to analyze the constitution of a media torture device, with a view to identifying the power relations and moral undertakings that circumscribe what is socially designated as virtual lynching and cancellation – more specifically of celebrity women. The analysis rests on the fact that women seem to suffer the consequences of this type of punishment differently, as they are affected by the effects of machismo, misogyny and racism. As an investigation tool, we chose to choose three cases of lynchings and cancellations that occurred in 2020 and 2021, namely: the singers Luisa Sonza and Karol Conká and the actress Alessandra Negrini, whose events revealed moral advances with consequences in the personal and professional lives of the artists. Regarding the methodology, this is a descriptive-interpretive study, with a qualitative approach, based on the theories of Foucault's discursive studies, through the archaeogeneological method, subsidy for the analyzes undertaken in this study
