THE OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY IN THE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS: KNOWING AND COEXISTING TO INTERVINE

Resumo: The research, of qualitative approach by means of oral history, aimed to know the trajectory of life of apatient with multiple sclerosis and the intervention in occupational therapy. The study reports the clinical evolutionbetween 2003 and 2007 and the interviews’ categories of analysis conducted in 2004. The categories were: personalcharacteristics and social relations; the disease and its meanings; therapeutic monitoring; the intervention of theoccupational therapy; the frustration caused by the treatment and progress of the disease; and support of the family. It isconcluded that the individualization of the treatment, joining available resources with multidisciplinary and family supportcontributes to the union of scientific knowledge with technical assistance for the development of subjectivity, throughsupport and presence, guidance and discussion, safety and comfort.

El estudio relata laevolución clínica entre 2003 y 2007 y las categorías de análisis de entrevistas realizadas en 2004. Las categorías fueron:características personales y relaciones sociales; la enfermedad y sus significados; el acompañamiento terapéutico; elescenario y la intervención de la terapia ocupacional; la frustración por el tratamiento y el progreso de la enfermedad, y elapoyo de la familia. Se concluyó que individualizar el tratamiento, uniendo los recursos disponibles y buscando apoyomultidisciplinario y familiar contribuye para la unión del saber técnico-científico con la subjetividad desarrollando asistenciadiferenciada, por el apoyo y la presencia, orientación y reflexión, seguridad y confort.A pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa por meio de história oral, objetivou conhecer a trajetória de vida de umaportadora de esclerose múltipla e relatar as intervenção em terapia ocupacional. O estudo relata a evolução clínica entre2003 e 2007 e as categorias de análise de entrevistas realizadas em 2004. As categorias foram: características pessoais erelações sociais; a doença e seus significados; o acompanhamento terapêutico; o cenário e a intervenção da terapiaocupacional; a frustração pelo tratamento e a evolução da doença; e o apoio da família.
