Resumo: This text objectifies to report an experience account of teaching practice and the evolving of the expressive care dimension through teaching home care to nursing undergraduates. Experiencing nursing teaching practice brought about reflection on what care is, who the cared patient is, what home care is like, and also what kind of professionals we want to graduate. Thus, we perceive that the instrumental and expressive care dimensions have been present in home care reality. We consider expressive care dimension to be an important aspect of humanized nursing home care since it goes through all caring process and is experienced by all involved subjects, that is to say, faculty, nursing undergraduates, patients and their family members/ caregivers; it entails all aspects of human existence that is why they must be acknowledged and considered.

Vivenciar la práctica docente de enfermería llevó a reflexionar sobre qué es enfermería, que es el cuidado, quién es el paciente que esta siendo cuidado, como es cuidar en domicilio, así como cuál es el profesional que queremos formar. Así, se percibió que las dimensiones de cuidado instrumental y expresiva estaban presentes en la realidad práctica del cuidado domiciliar. Se consideró la dimensión expresiva del cuidado como un importante aspecto para el cuidado humanizado de enfermería en domicilio, pues sobrepasó todo el proceso de cuidar y fue vivido por todas las personas envueltas, es decir, docentes, graduados en Enfermería, pacientes y su familia y/o cuidadores; por abarcar aspectos que hacen parte del exitir del ser humano y que deben ser reconocidos y considerados.O objetivo deste texto é relatar a experiência da vivência da prática docente e o emergir da dimensão expressiva no cuidado ao ensinar o cuidado domiciliar aos alunos de um curso de graduação em enfermagem. Vivenciar a prática docente de enfermagem incitou-nos à reflexão sobre o que é enfermagem, o que é cuidado, quem é o paciente que esta sendo cuidado, como é cuidar no domicílio, bem como qual profissional queremos formar. Assim percebemos que as dimensões de cuidado instrumental e expressiva estavam presentes na realidade da prática do cuidado no domiciliar.
