DIAGNÓSTICO DE NECESIDADES DE LA FAMILIA DE CLIENTES ADULTOS EN LA UNIDAD DE TERAPIA INTENSIVA: REVISIÓN DE LITERATURA

Resumo: The object of study is the diagnosis of the needs of adult clients’ families in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) andobjectifies to describe necessities presented by family members. It is a literature review of studies from 2001 to 2006 usingBireme, Scielo and ICCN as databases. The thematic analysis of fifteen scientific articles was held using NANDA’s (NorthAmerican Nursing Diagnosis Association) diagnoses as its theoretical background. The analysis identified theinterdependence of communication and therapeutic relationship to care delivery and the vulnerability of both client andfamily caused by his/her disease, making it difficult to take care of the patient, according to the expectations of nurses andthe philosophy of the institution. It is considered that the presence of the family at ICU is essential, since they are orientedto play their role as caregivers. Nursing should offer them support to integrate ICU care.

Trata-se de uma revisãobibliográfica de artigos do período de 2001 a 2006, utilizando como base de dados a Bireme, Scielo e ICCN. Realizamos aanálise temática de quinze artigos utilizando como referencial teórico os diagnósticos da North American Nursing DiagnosisAssociation (NANDA). A análise identificou a interdependência da comunicação e relacionamento terapêutico para efetivação do cuidado e a vulnerabilidade do cliente e da família pelo adoecimento, que geram dificuldades na execuçãodos cuidados, a partir das expectativas das enfermeiras e da filosofia institucional. Consideramos que a presença da famíliana UTI é essencial, desde que orientada quanto ao seu papel de cuidadora, cabendo à Enfermagem oferecer apoio àintegração ao cuidado na UTI.El objeto de estudio es el diagnóstico de necesidades de la familia de clientes adultos en la Unidad deCuidados Intensivos (UCI) y tiene por objetivos describir y analizar las necesidades presentadas por los familiares. Setrata de una revisión bibliográfica de artículos del periodo de 2001 a 2006, utilizando como base de datos a Bireme, Scieloy ICCN. Realizamos el análisis temática de quince artículos utilizando como referencia teórica los diagnósticos de NorthAmerican Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA).
