USE OF THE OPERATIVE GROUP IN HEALTH CARE: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

This study aimed to identify how the OperativeGroup has been used in the area of health, and what theevidence is for its use in the scientific literature. An integrativereview was undertaken, in the following databases: LatinAmerican and Caribbean Center on Health ScienceInformation (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis andRetrieval System On-Line (MEDLINE) and National Libraryof Medicine in the PUBMED database. Articles publishedbetween 2002 and July 2014, which addressed the OperativeGroup, as proposed by Pichon-Rivière, were selected. A totalof 23 articles was found, discussed in the following categories:the Operative Group in Peoples’ Health Care; the OperativeGroup in the Professional’s Teaching-Learning Process; theUse of the Operative Group in the Management of HealthServices; and, the Operative Group in Health Research. TheOperative Group has been adopted in health care for chronicillnesses, research, management, and training of healthworkers. It is concluded that this tool is relevant for the care andthat studies with other methodological designs are necessary.
