Experiences of students at public universities in Pernambuco during social distancing on covid-19 pandemic

Resumo: The general objective of this research was to understand the experiences of university students from health courses of public institutions of Pernambuco, Brazil, the social distancing caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The phenomenological method of empirical tendency was used. Ten university students from Physical Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nutrition and Psychology courses collaborated who forwarded written statements by e-mail. Phenomenological analysis was performed, and presented the experience in the following Units of Meaning: longing for life and of the university routine in person; concerns about the delay of the course; dissatisfaction, frustration and and emotional exhaustion in the face of Emergency Remote Education; fear of contracting the disease and contaminating the family; multiplicity of negative feelings towards the pandemic; uncertainties in the face of the long time of the pandemic, which promoted physical imbalance and emotional; reconfiguration of family dynamics and balance; attraction to loneliness favored dealing indifferently with social distancing; relief through time dedicated to faith/religious belief and leisure/hobby. Concluded, mainly, that these results point to the urgent need for public policies to care for these subjects.

Se buscó describir sentidos de esas experiencias, identificar impactos de ellas a la salud mental y a la vida académica de discentes, analizar dificultades y desafíos enfrentados e identificar estrategias de enfrentamiento utilizadas por ellos durante ese período. Se utilizó el método fenomenológico de tendencia empírica. Colaboraron diez universitarios de los cursos de Educación Física, Enfermería, Farmacia, Medicina, Nutrición y Psicología, que encaminaron testimonios escritos por e-mail. El análisis fenomenológica presentificou la experiencia en las Unidades de Sentido: anhelo de la vida y de la rutina universitaria presencial; preocupaciones con el retardo del curso; insatisfacción, frustración y desgaste emocional delante de la Enseñanza Remota de Emergencia; miedo de coger la enfermedad y contaminar la familia; multiplicidad de sentimientos negativos frente a la pandemia; incertidumbre delante al tiempo alargado de la pandemia, que promovieron desequilibrio físico y emocional; reconfiguración de la dinámica y del equilibrio familiar; atracción por la soledad favoreció lidiar indiferentemente con el distanciamiento social; alivio de la situación por intermedio de tempo dedicado a la fe/creencia religiosa y ocio/hobby. Se concluyó que esos resultados apuntan a la necesidad de políticas públicas de cuidado a esos sujetos.O objetivo geral da presente pesquisa foi compreender experiências de universitários de cursos de saúde de instituições públicas de Pernambuco, Brasil, durante o distanciamento social ocasionado pela pandemia da COVID-19. Foi utilizado o método fenomenológico de tendência empírica. Colaboraram dez universitários dos cursos de Educação Física, Enfermagem, Farmácia, Medicina, Nutrição e Psicologia, que encaminharam depoimentos escritos por e-mail. Análise fenomenológica foi realizada e presentificou-se a experiência nas seguintes Unidades de Sentido: saudade da vida e da rotina universitária presencial; preocupações com o atraso do curso; insatisfação, frustração e desgaste emocional diante do Ensino Remoto Emergencial; medo de contrair a doença e contaminar a família; multiplicidade de sentimentos negativos frente à pandemia; incertezas diante do tempo delongado da pandemia, que promoveram desequilíbrio físico e emocional; reconfiguração da dinâmica e do equilíbrio familiar; atração pela solidão favoreceu lidar indiferentemente com o distanciamento social; alívio da situação através de tempo dedicado à fé/crença religiosa e lazer/hobby.
