Resumo: A perspectiva de desigualdade global, objeto de debate ao longo nos mais variados ramos de conhecimento percorre os limites deste texto. Voltados em direcionar o debate para o a realidade brasileira e ao mesmo tempo, reconhecer a importância de se pensar nessa questão no âmbito da geografia, selecionamos alguns pontos centrais da obra O capital no século XXI do autor Thomas Piketty. Deste modo, selecionamos para apresentar neste texto: a estrutura expositiva da obra; os conceitos que contribuem para que o autor construa sua teoria; as ideias principais; e por fim, as sugestões apresentadas na obra.Palavras-chave: Desigualdade; Distribuição de Renda e Riqueza;Acumulação e Concentração.

AbstractThe perspective of global inequality, object of debate along the most varied branches of knowledge, runs through the limits of this text. Aimed at directing the debate to the Brazilian reality and at the same time, recognizing the importance of thinking about this issue in geography, we selected some central points of the work The Capital in the 21st Century by author Thomas Piketty.
