Resumo: A geographical reading of space and the subject that seeks the integrated interpretation between science and art, objectivity and subjectivity, concrete and symbolic, does not omit the contributions of literature. In this sense, it is believed that the literary voice enriches and broadens the scientific action of the geographer, his way of seeing, unveiling and telling the world. In different genres as poem, short story and novel, literature inscribes the marks of times and spaces, its economic, anthropological, cultural and geographical density. There are in them cartographies of concrete life and theirs symbolic, social and political references. Thus, the reflections presented in this text are based on the reading of the novel "My dear Beirut", by the writer Miguel Jorge. The central core of reading is the migratory process and its extension. The present reflection analyzes how the writer, in his work, "treads the ground" revealing the pedagogical sense of the novel genre: its ability to, through imagined history, speak of human incompleteness from the critique of time and the implications of the conflicts, wars, and forced migrations that shape global geopolitics. The text still underlines the inexhaustible possibilities of dialogues between geography and literature as it widens readings of the world, space, subject and existence.Key words: Geography; Literature; Space; Migration.

UFPRChaveiro, Eguimar FelícioGonçalves, Ricardo Junior de Assis FernandesBorges, Ronan Eustáquio2019-12-20info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.ufpr.br/geografar/article/view/5955910.5380/geografar.v14i2.59559REVISTA GEOGRAFAR; v. 14, n. 2 (2019); 287-3021981-089X10.5380/geografar.v14i2reponame:Revista Geografarinstname:Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR)instacron:UFPRporhttps://revistas.ufpr.br/geografar/article/view/59559/37788https://revistas.ufpr.br/geografar/article/view/59559/39925Direitos autorais 2019 REVISTA GEOGRAFARinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2019-12-21T02:27:23Zoai:revistas.ufpr.br:article/59559Revistahttps://revistas.ufpr.br/geografarPUBhttps://revistas.ufpr.br/geografar/oai||geografar@ufpr.br1981-089X1981-089Xopendoar:2019-12-21T02:27:23Revista Geografar - Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR)false
