ANÁLISE DOS CONDICIONANTES DO MEIO FÍSICO NO USO E OCUPAÇÃO DA TERRA NO ALTO CURSO DA BACIA DO RIO PIRAPÓ – PR

The aim of this study is presenting the characteristics of the rural properties and the types of use and occupation of soil related to the attributes of the environment of the basaltic sub-compartment A, located at the high stream of Pirapó River Basin, state of Paraná - Brazil. In this study, we made use of the integrated landscape analysis, as proposed by Monteiro (2001). The research showed that this sub-compartment presents dissected relief. The main types of soil found in the properties we analyzed were Litolic Neosols, Regolitic Neosols, Red Nitosols and, to a lesser extent, Red Oxisols which are clayey to the touch, Haplic Cambisols and Haplic Gleysols. In areas of Litolic and Regolitic Neosols, the prevalent type of use of soil is pasture. However, in those areas of Nitosols and Oxisols, which are more developed types of soil, the land is used for grains cultivation. Therefore, the socioeconomic activities are in accordance with the geological structure of these landscape subunits.
