A presente pesquisa teve por objetivo analisar, por meio do discurso de crianças que vivem em abrigos, como estavam organizadas suas famílias no momento do abrigamento, como funcionam os abrigos onde moram, quais são as expectativas de futuro destas crianças e as suas redes de vinculação afetiva. Por fim, buscou-se verificar se há diferença entre o discurso das crianças que vivem em um Abrigo tradicional e o discurso das crianças que vivem em um abrigo organizado no sistema Casa Lar. Os participantes deste estudo foram 30 (trinta) crianças com idade variando entre 8 e 12 anos, sendo que 18 (dezoito) delas estavam sob a guarda de uma instituição do tipo Casa Lar e as outras 12 (doze) viviam em um Abrigo tradicional, que foram entrevistadas individualmente. Os resultados indicaram que a maioria das famílias das crianças entrevistadas era nuclear e apresentavam um padrão de violência entre seus membros nas relações cotidianas, sendo que os principais motivos para o abrigamento das crianças foram a negligência e o abandono. Quanto à diferença entre os dois modelos institucionais foi possível perceber que são diferentes quanto à disciplina (uso frequente da punição física no Abrigo); as atividades extra-institucionais e a preservação da individualidade da criança. Os dados apontaram a escassez das visitas dos familiares e amigos às crianças entrevistadas ao longo do tempo de abrigamento. As crianças mostraram que têm expectativas e projetos para o futuro, quanto à profissão, família e sonhos. A vinculação afetiva destas crianças estava voltada, em primeiro grau, para os membros da família. Através da análise do modo de funcionamento de dois abrigos pôde-se considerar que o modelo institucional é falido, principalmente por não contemplar as necessidades emocionais das crianças que estão abrigadas. Contudo, a transição do modelo institucional tradicional para o sistema Casa Lar pode ser interessante, visto que seu principal objetivo é reproduzir o modelo familiar promovendo o estabelecimento de vínculos afetivos, o respeito à individualidade, promoção de autonomia, contato constante com a comunidade, enfim, uma estrutura que possa proporcionar um desenvolvimento global adequado para a criança que está abrigada.Abstract: The subject children institutionalization in personal or social risk is surrounded by several questions as: The family, The work model of the children shelters, the future projects and the affective bonds, essentials when the intention is to analyze the institutional context. The present research had for objective to analyze, by the speech of children who live in shelters how their families, at the moment of the sheltering were organized, how the shelters where they live works, which are those expectations of future and its nets of affective bonds. This research also verified if there was a difference between the speech of the children who live in traditional shelters and the speech of the children who live in a home model shelters (casa lar). The participants of this research had been 30 children between 8 and 12 years old, 18 living in traditional shelters and 12 living in home model shelters (casa lar). They had been interviewed individually, following a script of interview previously elaborated. The results had indicated that the majority of the families of the interviewed children were nuclear and they presented a violence standard among its members in the daily relationships. The results also had indicated that the main reason for the children institutionalization was the negligence and the abandon of the children by their families. The traditional shelters and the home model shelters had revealed different about the disciplines. Another discrepant point between the traditional Shelters and the home model shelters was about the way to treat the individuality and extra-institutional activities. The research data also had pointed the scarcity of the familiar and friends visits to the children interviewed during the institutionalization time. The children had shown that they have expectations and projects for the future, about their profession, family and dreams. The affective bond of the children was focused, in first degree, for the members of their families. Analyzing the work model of the two shelters was possible to consider the institutional model broke, mainly for not considering the emotional necessities of the children who are sheltered.
