Defesa : Curitiba, 29/03/2022Inclui referências: p. 72-81Resumo: O turismo de cassinos é o tema da presente investigação, cujo recorte espacial contempla a região da tríplice fronteira visto que representa importante oferta turística, constituindo-se no Destino Iguaçu. A consideração da tríplice fronteira enquanto território e espaço turístico contíguo leva em consideração o fato de que em 2007 se cria a gestão integrada de turismo envolvendo áreas fronteiriças do Brasil, Paraguai e Argentina. Nesse sentido, Foz do Iguaçu, enquanto destino turístico, oferta os jogos de apostas como um de seus produtos. Alguns estudos, inclusive, demonstraram que a percepção do turista é de que os cassinos pertencem à oferta turística deste município. Neste contexto, a pesquisa se constitui como uma oportunidade de evidenciar o cassino, como atrativo turístico complementar aos atrativos principais do Destino Iguaçu, buscando entender as motivações dos fluxos para estes atrativos a partir da perspectiva do turista. A importância acadêmica da pesquisa leva em conta que a realidade específica dos cassinos na tríplice fronteira, enquanto motivação turística ou localização territorial, constitui uma lacuna. Tendo em vista a contextualização delineada, levanta-se um questionamento com o propósito de contribuir com o processo de desenvolvimento da presente pesquisa: Quais são os fatores motivacionais que levam os turistas a visitar os cassinos do Destino Turístico do Iguaçu? Dessa forma, propõem-se como objetivo geral da pesquisa, identificar os fatores motivacionais que levam os turistas a visitar os cassinos do Destino Turístico do Iguaçu. Assim, elegeu-se analisar os motivos que levam a escolher este segmento utilizando o modelo conceitual de análise das motivações push e pull (DANN, 1977; CROMPTON, 1979) a partir dos cassinos do Destino Turístico do Iguaçu. A metodologia utilizada foi de natureza qualitativa partindo da captura de 2.197 comentários no site Tripadvisor dos principais cassinos da tríplice fronteira: Casino Iguazu, Casino Del Este, Casino Acaray, Casino American e Casino Platinum; abrangendo desde o primeiro comentário em Agosto de 2012 até o mês de Março de 2020. A coleta dos dados, tabulação e o tratamento dos dados foram realizados por meio de mecanismos para análise de textos do software R, gerando quadrigamas (sequências de quatro palavras), sendo possível catalogar os fatores motivacionais que emergiram. A interpretação dos dados foi implementada por meio da aplicação da análise de conteúdo proposta por Bardin (2016), objetivando extrair conceitos e então definir as categorias correlatas às variáveis indicadas pela teoria que fundamentou o estudo. Ao final do processo, chegou-se aos resultados mais relevantes referentes aos fatores push, de que a dimensão novidades predomina, seguido da socialização, repouso e relaxamento; enquanto aos fatores pull, a dimensão infraestrutura predomina, seguido de bares e entretenimento, acomodações e transporte. Os achados de pesquisa estão em sintonia com outros estudos realizados com a mesma metodologia em destinos com cassinos nos Estados Unidos, Europa e Ásia. Em relação à contribuição prática do estudo, destaca-se a oportunidade de ampliar estratégias de integração do atrativo cassino aos demais existentes na região da tríplice fronteira, aumentando a permanência do turista. Como contribuição acadêmica, colabora para reduzir uma lacuna existente na pesquisa brasileira, somando-se a estudos internacionais que abordam o turismo de cassino como produto e não apenas como elemento histórico, num contexto, em que o destino não está limitado por fronteiras político-administrativas, mas sim, pela movimentação do turista no espaço.Abstract: Casino tourism is the subject of the present investigation, whose spatial cut contemplates the triple border region since it represents an important tourist offer, constituting the Iguaçu Destination. The consideration of the triple border as a territory and contiguous tourist space takes into account the fact that in 2007 the integrated management of tourism was created involving border areas of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. In this sense, Foz do Iguaçu, as a tourist destination, offers betting games as one of its products. Some studies even showed that the tourist perception is that casinos belong to the tourist offer of this municipality. In this context, the research constitutes an opportunity to highlight the casino, as a tourist attraction that complements the main attractions of the Iguaçu Destination, seeking to understand the motivations of the flows to these attractions from the tourist's perspective. The academic importance of the research takes into account that the specific reality of casinos on the triple border, as a tourist motivation or territorial location, constitutes a gap. In view of the outlined contextualization, a question arises with the purpose of contributing to the development process of this research: What are the motivational factors that lead tourists to visit the casinos of the Tourist Destination of Iguaçu? In this way, it is proposed as a general objective of the research, to identify the motivational factors that lead tourists to visit the casinos of the Tourist Destination of Iguaçu. Thus, it was chosen to analyze the reasons that lead to choose this segment using the conceptual model of analysis of push and pull motivations (DANN, 1977; CROMPTON, 1979) from the casinos of the Tourist Destination of Iguaçu. The methodology used was qualitative in nature, based on the capture of 2,197 comments on the Tripadvisor website from the main casinos on the triple border: Casino Iguazu, Casino Del Este, Casino Acaray, Casino American and Casino Platinum; covering from the first comment in August 2012 to the month of March 2020. Data collection, tabulation and data processing were carried out through mechanisms for text analysis of the R software, generating quadrigams (sequences of four words), making it possible to catalog the motivational factors that emerged. Data interpretation was implemented through the application of content analysis proposed by Bardin (2016), aiming to extract concepts and then define the categories correlated to the variables indicated by the theory that supported the study. At the end of the process, the most relevant results were reached regarding the push factors, in which the novelty dimension predominates, followed by socialization, rest and relaxation; while for pull factors, the infrastructure dimension predominates, followed by bars and entertainment, accommodation and transport. The research findings are in line with other studies carried out with the same methodology in destinations with casinos in the United States, Europe and Asia. Regarding the practical contribution of the study, there is an opportunity to expand strategies for integrating the casino attraction with the others existing in the triple border region, increasing tourist permanence.
