Defesa: Curitiba, 12/05/2015Inclui referências : f. 117-121Resumo: O presente estudo teve como objetivo geral estimar o potencial de atração de pessoas nos municípios da região do Segundo Planalto Paranaense. No estudo observaram-se especificamente os municípios de Telêmaco Borba, Ortigueira, Sapopema, Curiúva, Figueira, São Jerônimo da Serra, Imbaú, Reserva, Tibagi e Ventania. Para estimar o potencial de atração de pessoas foi utilizado o modelo gravitacional proposto por Isard (1975). Foram empregados as distâncias entre os municípios, suas respectivas populações e os fluxos de passageiros que ocorreram no ano de 2010, no transporte coletivo intermunicipal. Foi proposta a adição do fator de ponderação (wi) ao modelo gravitacional original, de modo a adicionar variáveis que representam as atividades econômicas municipais. A distribuição espacial da população pode ser considerada como estando num sistema hierárquico e com as mais variadas ligações funcionais proporcionando um sistema hierárquico do potencial de atração de pessoas idêntico à distribuição populacional proporcional na região. A distribuição espacial dos municípios da região do Segundo Planalto Paranaense pressupõe que há um espaço econômico organizado em torno de um núcleo urbano principal. Conclui-se que os fluxos observados (Iij) no transporte coletivo intermunicipal são diretamente proporcionais ao tamanho das massas (Pi) e inversamente proporcionais a distância que as separa, e pode ser expressa por uma força central, atrativa, hierarquicamente organizada pelo tamanho das populações e as distâncias que as separa. O município que demonstrou o maior potencial de atração de pessoas foi Telêmaco Borba, seguido de Reserva, Ortigueira, Tibagi, Curiúva. Os que menos proporcionaram esse potencial foram Imbaú, São Jerônimo da Serra, Ventania, Figueira e Sapopema. Conclui-se que quanto maior for à centralidade do fator de ponderação (wi), acrescido ao modelo gravitacional original, maior será o potencial de atração de pessoas. Dentre os fatores de ponderação (wi) que compõe as atividades econômicas municipais, o Valor Adicionado Bruto a Preços Básicos na Atividade Industrial proporciona o maior potencial de atração de pessoas. Dentre os fatores de ponderação (wi) do Setor Agropecuário, o Valor Nominal da Produção Florestal proporciona o maior potencial de atração de pessoas nos municípios da região do Segundo Planalto Paranaense. Atratividade.Abstract: This study aimed to estimate the potential to attract people in the cities within the region of the Second Paraná Plateau. We specifically observed the municipalities of Telemaco Borba, Ortigueira, Sapopema, Curiúva, Figueira, São Jerônimo da Serra, Imbaú, Reserva, Tibagi and Ventania. In order to estimate the potential to attract people we used the gravity model proposed by Isard (1975). We employees the distance between cities, their respective populations and passenger flows that occurred in 2010 in intercity public transportation. We proposed the addition of the weighting factor (wi) to the original gravity model to allow the addition of variables that represent the municipal economic activities. The spatial distribution of the population in the area may be regarded as a hierarchical system with several functional connections providing a hierarchical system of attraction potential that is identical to the proportional population distribution in the region. The spatial distribution of the municipalities within the region of the Second Paraná Plateau assumes that there is an organized economic space around a major urban core. We concluded that the observed flows (Iij) in intercity public transportation are directly proportional to the size of the masses (Pi) and inversely proportional to the distance between them. It can be expressed by a central, attractive force that is hierarchically organized by the size of populations and the distances separating them. The municipality that showed the greatest potential to attract people was Telemaco Borba, followed by Reserva, Ortigueira, Tibagi and Curiúva. The ones that showed the least potential to attract people were Imbaú, São Jerônimo da Serra, Ventania, Figueira and Sapopema. We also concluded that the greater the centrality of the weighting factor (wi) plus the original gravity model, the greater the potential for attracting people. Among the weighting factors (wi) that make up the municipal economic activities, the Gross Value Added at basic prices in industrial activity provides the greatest potential to attract people. Among the weighting factors (wi) of the Agricultural Sector, the nominal value of forest production provides the greatest potential to attract people in the cities within the region of the Second Paraná Plateau.
