Defesa: Curitiba, 03.05.2004Inclui bibliografia e notas bibliográficasÁrea de concentraçao: Cultura e PoderResumo: A Pastoral Operária surgiu com uma atuação diferenciada das outras pastorais que tinham como foco principal a ação evangelizadora, enquanto nesta, as manifestações religiosas foram substituídas por uma militância política, devido ao contexto político dos anos 70/80. Assim, sob a ótica da Doutrina Social da Igreja, averiguam-se quais os elementos que fundamentaram as práticas desta pastoral, reconstruindo sua trajetória referente à solução das questões sociais vinculadas ao mundo do trabalho, além de identificar suas propostas para o trabalhador operário urbano industrial católico, destacando-se a experiência em Curitiba. Também se procurou perceber como se dá a transição entre o discurso oficial da Igreja Católica e sua prática através da Pastoral Operária. O recorte temporal (1965-1999) que delimita este estudo é o Concílio Vaticano II (1965), considerado o marco divisor entre o discurso de uma Igreja sacramental, voltado prioritariamente para as classes dominantes, e uma Igreja cujo discurso será direcionado para os pobres e oprimidos, valorizando a libertação das classes subalternas. O estudo prossegue até o final da década de noventa, acompanhando a evolução da sociedade e do mundo do trabalho e como essa dinâmica se processa na pastoral, percebendo-se as novas configurações que se processam em seu interior neste período. Também há de se considerar, especificamente no Brasil, o movimento de 1964, em função do caminho percorrido pelos governos militares que assumiram o poder. A Igreja Católica, por sua vez, sob liderança da CNBB, optou por se afastar do Estado articulando-se aos movimentos sociais e garantindo espaço para a manifestação das lutas da sociedade civil, com parte do clero se identificando com a luta dos operários e o mundo do trabalho. Outros fatores que contribuíram para a delimitação temporal foram as Conferências de Medellín (1968), Puebla (1979) e Santo Domingo (1992) e os rumos da Igreja Latino-Americana a partir dessas reuniões. Discute-se a renovação pastoral da Igreja Católica, o surgimento da Teologia da Libertação, o discurso da concórdia na Doutrina Social da Igreja versus a opção classista da Pastoral Operária. A partir de 1990, ocorreu uma mudança no perfil dos militantes, reduziu-se o quadro de operário urbano industrial católico, ampliando-se para outras categorias profissionais, alguns sendo católicos e outros que se consideram ateus ou de outras religiões. Houve uma mudança de rumo, fortalecendo a dimensão de fé, espiritualidade do trabalho e da mística que alimenta a militância. Procurou-se perceber de que maneira a questão da fé se liga à conscientização política e de que forma as relações presentes no mundo do trabalho são percebidas. Palavras-chaves: Trabalho, Doutrina Social da Igreja Católica e Pastoral OperáriaAbstract: The Labor Pastoral appeared with a differentiated performance of the other pastorals that had as main focus the evangelist action, while in this, the religious manifestations were substituted by a political militancy, due to the political context of the 70/80's. Thus, under the optics of the Social Doctrine of the Church, it is discovered which elements based the practices of this pastoral, reconstructing its path regarding the solution of the social subjects linked to the world of the work, besides identifying its proposals for the Catholic industrial urban labor worker, standing out the experience in Curitiba. It was also tried to notice how the transition between the official speech of the Catholic Church and its practice through the Labor Pastoral happens. The temporal cutting (1965-1999) that delimits this study is the Council Vatican II (1965), considered the divisor mark among the speech of a sacramental Church, gone back priority to the dominant classes, and a Church whose speech will be addressed to the poor and oppressed, valuing the liberation of the subordinate classes. The study continues until the end of the decade of ninety, following the evolution of the society and of the world of the work and how that dynamics is processed in the pastoral, being noticed the new configurations that are processed in its interior in this period. It also must be considered, specifically in Brazil, the movement of 1964, in function of the way followed by the military governments that assumed the power. The Catholic Church, in its turn, under leadership of CNBB, opted to stand back of the State pronouncing to the social movements and guaranteeing space for the manifestation of the fights of the civil society, with part of the clergy identifying with the workers' fight and the world of the work. Other factors that contributed to the temporary delimitation were the Conferences of Medellin (1968), Puebla (1979) and Saint Domingo (1992) and the directions of the Latin-American Church starting from those meetings. The pastoral renewal of the Catholic Church, the appearance of the Theology of the Liberation, the concordance speech in the Social Doctrine of the Church versus the class option of the Labor Pastoral. From 1990 on, a change happened in the militants' profile, the worker's Catholic industrial urban picture was reduced, being enlarged for other professional categories, some being Catholic and others that are considered atheists or of other religions. There was a direction change, strengthening the dimension of faith, spirituality of the work and of the mystic that feeds the militancy. It was tried to notice how the subject of the faith is linked to the political understanding and how the present relationships in the world of the work are noticed.
